This week i'm sharing just a few of the thing's i've done recently in my magickal practice. This is by no means all of my practice, most of which I tend to keep private. However, it is some aspects that I thought would be particularly interesting or useful to those wanting to see a practice that isn't always spells and rituals. I've worked with liminal space, crystals, spells and more...

I can't believe you do the candle carving the same way I do! Lol. I thought I was the only one, I see a lot of ppl doing the reverse. But to me it makes so much sense to write from the top down to attract, so the flame can "spell" the sentence as it burns; and write from the bottom up to banish, so the flame can "erase" the sentence like a backspace key.

I can definitely go several days without doing active spell work. These days, I just whisper intentions into my morning coffee and sprinkle loving and protective intentions into the meals that my partner and I share. It’s been forever since I’ve done an active spell or ritual because they take up a lot of energy and I don’t always stick to a set schedule with them, but I like the little things a lot more anyway. 😊

Loved this multipurpose video. My preference for spells, I do them when I need to and that can be once a month, once every 2 months etc. I cleanse my spaces more, moon charging each month, recharge my home protections and recharge my cats collars for protection every few months. Loads of researching and jotting in my BOS alot. Sometimes I'm just too tired to do anything. My favourite witchy tool, my electric herb blitser, love making powders, incense, herb mixtures etc. Going nuts on collecting oil recipes right now.

@BlissfulBombshells hiya my love. The way I make mine depending on the intention. I gather the corresponding dried herbs and loosely grind them together, if their fresh they can get too wet when you grind them releasing their juices and you get hardy/no burn. And depends on how I burn my incense, I ether drop on charcoal disc first a resin like. Frankincense, copal, dragons blood and then the herb mix on top, or roughly mix them together. If I don't have the resin but I have an incense cone, I loosely crush one of them in. Recipe wise, I have even came across an oil recipe and turned it into a loose herb version or vise versa herb to oil recipe. Still worked for me. Hope thos makes sense.

That was fabulous, Hearth. I really enjoyed seeing the various things you do as part of your practice. I do cleansing quite often as I'm an avid collector of mostly second hand books (and pretty things from charity shops, lol) so I not only like to cleanse them of any influences but also do it to welcome them into their new home. Gardening and looking after my indoor plants is done with magical mindfulness too, and I direct energy to them, but I rarely do any rituals or spellwork. I did conduct a spell two or three weeks ago though, for the first time in ages, as I think someone's been spreading malicious gossip about me, so I checked out various ideas and came up with something that not only addresses the problem but goes back to any person or persons who might be doing it - not out of revenge, but so that others know where it came from - which unexpectedly immediately lifted my spirits and, as I'd been feeling very isolated, depressed and ill, that was a huge bonus. I also meditate fairly often during odd minutes of the day or before sleep. :)

I love this style of video hearth! You always give such great tips. You inspired me to do a spell yesterday with your talk of storm magik on streams. I took a glass seasoning jar that had just a bit of rosemary left in it, and let the thunderstorm water fill it up. After I set it on my speaker and played some solfeggio frequencies to it, then I verbally and energetically set intentions, then drank it. The storm was a little scary, much like my butterfly thoughts as of lately, so my overall idea was to take the chaos energy of the storm and make it chaotic good, where I still have my entergetic mind but instead of repeating dark past thoughts, I can be more in the now with brighter, creative, and happy thoughts. (I had came up with a reverse spell incase this totally was the wrong idea) but so far so good, my thoughts are energetic but positive, I'm snapping out of my bad thoughts(day-nightmares) before I even really get in the trance. Also yes I've done a good bit of shadow work, but my main issue has been the repetitive thoughts. I practice mindfulness, get outside, ect. But bad habits be bad habits and I felt like I truly needed this extra push.

I use the Blanda Blank bowls from IKEA as my cauldrons. I bought one in small, medium, and large, they sell extra large ones as well. The small one is only $3 in Australia and I use it all the time for burning loose incense, petitions, and bay leaves. I use it on top of a small metal chocolate fondue stand because charcoal disks get very hot and I don't want to burn the surface it's sitting on. My parents don't know that I'm a spiritual practitioner and my mother is very Christian. I don't live with my parents, but they stay at my place when they visit the town where I live and my mother can be a bit nosey. The IKEA bowls look innocent enough that I don't have to worry about her finding them. Thank you so much for telling your audience that you don't need a cauldron that looks like a cauldron, you can use anything that's fireproof. If someone is either in the broom closet or would like to practice magic but feel like they can't, this information may be important for them to hear. Using regular playing cards for divination is another great option for those in the broom closet, I was shocked at how accurate my deck was when I first started using it.

Super helpful for learning about spiritual maintenance, Hearth - thank you. I've only recently begun cleansing my oracle and tarot cards as I use these daily. My weekly practice looks like walking in nature most mornings, sometimes with a walking meditation and almost always connecting with trees and other plants. I tend my herb garden - I grow them for health and magickal workings. I work with tarot as a means of connection and reflection on the daily. I have specific times of the month when I focus on abundance and gratitude, and work on healing spells as needed. Thank you so much for all that you teach here!

I do lots of little things, mostly spiritual maintenance, like you've said. I stir intentions into my coffee and tea, I make little spell jars for protection and prosperity as needed, I garden purposefully and dry herbs, I leave offerings and pray, I build up my wards, I chat with my spiritual team, I sing and use simmer pots and sprays for cleansing, I do a lot of reading and research into my practice and practices I want to incorporate. I do proper "big" spells...like once every couple of weeks? Most of the time it's just little things.

I really loved and enjoyed this video and I wish to see more magickal maintenance, because it's a topic which definitely is often overlooked, but I personally think it's almost as important if not more than spellwork. I usually set and stir my intention for the day into my morning coffee and spice my lemonades up with herbs from my small balcony garden which match my intention. I also tend to pet and whisper to my plants and herbs as affectionally as I do to my cats and praise them for their growth and cheering for them to get better if something seems off with them. I also love to press leaves, plants and flowers for my grimoires for which I use my own plants, also some of the apartment block's front entrance plants (we have a lot of ivy and it looks amazing in the books).

Thank you for this sneak peek into your practice! Super helpful and informative. Regarding mirrors... there's a mirror in the women's restroom at a bar where my sister used to work. This mirror made everyone look just awful, like really sad, old, and tired. My sister and I swear it was because of all the nasty spirits that come into the bar, and the sad, angry feelings of some of its regulars.

Thanks, Hearth. I dry a lot of stuff like herbs, chili peppers, meats, etc... in the same style of drier you have. When you're using it, don't put the empty trays in the stack, leave them out, the results will be much quicker. Also, try to dry at the lowest temperature possible (trial and error will be needed here), you'll get much less distortion of the things that you are trying to dry out. Every half hour to an hour, rotating the bottom tray to the top will also help even drying at a much better pace. The unit that I have now does not have temperature control, it's either on or off, which is a pain in the rear.

I usually can go months without casting a spell. Most of my day to day practice is actually just spiritual maintenance. But since I'm probably an energy hoarder as my alter is dedicated to the spirits I work with and it is a nexus of stored energy that I have saved up from offerings, speaking with my spirits, and charging magical items. Then when I do finally do a spell there is months of stored up energy that I can put behind the spell. These spells have proven to be extremely effective over the long term. I would actually recommend that anyone doing large workings start not with the workings, but building a nexus of power to use in those workings. Because I do my workings this way, I can do spells without feeling tired, or like they wont work because I don't have enough power to make them work.
