Michael's issue was never fame. From the moment he stepped onto the world stage until his death, he was harshly and unfairly treated, and even today, he continues to be judged, criticized, and misunderstood. @@hannaz4617 Michael Jackson was beloved even his eccentric behavior at 1st was accepted. MJ was treated like a modern day King. The problem was the 1st child molestation allegation. People used it to reevaluate what was once acceptable behavior. The big mistake was paying the money to the accuser. Bad legal advice. By paying out and size of the payout. The size of the stain of settling increased. The media begin to sell MJJ news, propaganda, gossip, rumors instead of albums. Michael sort of lost his footing around this point. The full transformation of his face. Failed marriage to Elvis daughter. Then the raid and intentional shaming and abuse by law enforcement. The criminal charges. The trial. The not guilty. The larger stain. It appears MJJ did not take aging well. The way and manner in which he died. The weight of the world too much to bear. The world is a lesser place without him.

After that horrific 1984 Pepsi commercial accident, where his hair caught on fire from the pyrotechnics. His scalp/head was permanently burned. I can't even begin to imagine the pain that he endured. My grandmother used to work at WJPC in Chicago and met him a few times when he was part of Jackson 5 at one of their functions. "He's just a regular boy," she said. "He came up to me and asked if we had any more chicken." My mom still tells me to stop idolizing him, he was just a person. When I watched this video, this brings to light -- he was just a person, who was swallowed up by fame and all that could come with it. Like Lionel said, he hit that wall. I would suggest ending each video by letting the footage completely play out and fully end, THEN adding a still shot of Michael that extends the video by about 20-30 seconds, giving the suggested in-video links space to pop up without blocking the screen from actual footage. Michael Jackson was not in the same race as anybody else. At some point he had 4billion fans across the globe. That was almost everyone. In the music Industry there was Michael Jackson and then there was everybody else.

Lionel's greatest feat was as a songwriter. If I'm not mistaken Lionel wrote a number 1 song every year for a decade or something crazy like that. But the 80s was the decade of the mega star and there were others such as Prince, Tina, Whitney to name a few, who were all competing at one point in time to be the biggest or best that they could be. Competing doesn't mean your better, but that you strive to be better. Lennon & McCartney and Brian Wilson pushed each other to produce some of the most brilliant music in the late 60s. The competition produced albums like Pet Sounds and Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.

Mike was in competition with people without knowing they all wanted to claim a part of him

No one wears a Lionel Ritchie shirt. Absolutely no one. Dude was and still is salty.

Muchas cosas para comentar sobre el vídeo. 1.

@@kevcart3789 Be hard press to find that level of talent. Amazing how we sort of took it for granted.

Lionel is one of the greatest artists ever... MJ is the GREATEST artist ever👑

I was a child when MTV launched, and they were hesitant to start playing black artists. MJ was always the one to wait for, closely followed by Prince. By that metric, Lionel was a distant third.
