I get a feeling that group of guys where looking for a way to fix up a boat for themselves under the guise of "for charity". They figured all they have to do was mention that and, of course, people would give their services for free. That idea bombed.

I used to make both standing and running rigging for sailboats when I was quite young. It's hard work just manufacturing the rigging, much less installing it. That said, I used to do rope to wire splices for the halyards, and splice dock lines (on the side) while watching TV in the evenings. My hat is off to her and all those in the industry.

Let me get this straight. He was never part of the organization and wants someone to volunteer their time in the name of the organization? Didn't he even think that since she is a businesswoman that if she did volunteer her time that she would want a donation receipt from the 501c organization for that donated labor?

I don’t get this judge, every case that comes in what is it that she always says, “your going to court why would you not think to bring receipts to prove your case” and “how I’m I to know what you spent with out receipts”then she won’t give plaintiff that part of her ruling, but she does it now? I think plaintiff and defendant are a little feeble minded which causes a brake down in their communications .

I think the defendant is telling the truth and she agreed to do it for free. I think she's old and has memory/dementia problems and doesn't remember agreeing to work for free. Why would he hire and pay her 3 or 4 times without any problems and then out of the blue lie and make up a story for free work? Yes, it's possible but, with her age, seems more likely she's having memory issues. Just a guess.

Why do women in 2020 act like women before the 90's didn't do anything? Women have been sailing and working on boats for many years. One woman in the 1700's joined the Royal Navy and did this exact work. Carpentry and rigging. (she dressed and acted as a man). So sorry, no "female pioneer" badge for this one.
