It would apply here if there was real cheese involved. Unfortunately the stuff masquerading as cheese is nearer to a tyre than to cheese. The US does many food things really well, but they really can't do cheese.

Hello. I love your ballistic burger channel. I joined and started following your channel last year. I think your burger reinterpretations are cool. I'm going to attempt the Big Mac one soon. I do have more of a cookware question for you, ibf you don't mind answering it. I know you use burger rings to form patties. Can you recommend some brand? When I recently checked out Amazon with the search term "burger rings," a lot of returns came back for English muffin or tart rings. Can these also be used for burger patties formation? Thank you for your time and keep up the excellent work.

Great burger! I like the brown butter mayo and the pickled onions, I would cut the cheese to one slice per patty. Do the Brits really use American cheese on this burger? lol
@jasondouglas23383 жыл бұрын
Well it won't actually be from the US, just like a pack of Cheddar from Walmart won't have been within 3000 miles of the English village of Cheddar... but "American cheese" just works on a burger, regardless of where you are in the world!

Where's thr recipe for the pickled onions?
@BallisticBurgers3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the catch! I just added it in the description box, but here it is. Pickled Onion: 1 medium onion, chopped 1/2 cup water 1/4 cup distilled white vinegar 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar 1 1/2 tablespoons maple syrup 1 1/2 teaspoon pickling spice 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt Pack the onions into a 1-pint mason jar or similar heat-safe vessel. Place the jar in the sink, to catch any splashes of hot vinegar later. In a small saucepan, combine the water, both vinegars, maple syrup, salt, and pickling spice. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer over medium heat, then carefully pour the mixture into the jar over the onions. Use a butter knife or spoon to press the onions down into the vinegar and pop any air bubbles in the jar. Let the pickled onions cool to room temperature (about 20 to 30 minutes), at which point they should be sufficiently pickled for serving. Cover and refrigerate leftover pickled onions for later. Quick-pickled onions are best consumed within three days, but they keep for 2 to 3 weeks in the refrigerator.
