Just watched the movie in a movie theater and the atmosphere of fear and horror was fucking 20 out of 10. From the very first minute everyone in the theater was “sucked” into the experience and nobody said a word for 2 hours. I was 100% involved. I totally got what I expected, even more. A real horror-movie. And the marketing campaign was a piece of art.

This looks like it’s going to be anxious and dark as hell. I just know Nicolas Cage is gonna be so unhinged and I love Monroe too. I’m very excited for this. The director is the same director that made The Blackcoats Daughter which is super underrated and captures depression and loneliness better than a lot of horror i’ve seen, so excited to see his new work as well. I also get huge David Fincher vibes with this, but I definitely feel like there is going to be paranormal/otherwordly elements at play due to all the little teasers and trailers and imagery we see in them. Edit: Actually so many interesting looking horror films coming out this year. Longlegs, Heretic, Nosferatu, MAXXXine, The Front Room etc.

@@brolyz7689you don’t have taste. This movie is not scary because of jump scares but due to an actual dread that lingers deep in your stomach almost as if it was disgust like you were living it. The tension this movie builds that leaves you guessing whether it’s spiritual or just a psychotic serial killer is unlike any other and to think this is anything comparable to the run of the mill catholic movies that have been released lately is absolute insanity. I’ve seen practically every older horror movie that has popularity and practically every new one. In my honest opinion this movie is top 3 and may even rest at top 1 of all time for the absolute eeriness and true fear it generates. Yall love horrors movies that aren’t scary and just cuz it’s indie and seems alittle different call it a masterpiece if the cinematography is good. The plot was really close to being interesting but ultimately kinda fell flat. The saving grace of this movie was Nicholas cage and like I said it’s cinematography. The flashback scene that explained the plot was the best part and honestly should have just been the movie. Other than that this movie was very overhyped and not scary at all. I wanted to like it so bad cuz I need a new horror movie worth watching. But I’m glad I saw this for 5 bucks

Please, I just came here to comment after watching it today. It was definitely one of the good horror movies that left me feeling uncomfortable throughout the entire show. It wasn’t just the feeling of horror, but a mix of everything from being disgusted and creeped out, not just by the antagonist but even by the main character herself. Maika was a good actress because the way she portrayed that blank look and soulless character made me uneasy since I wasn’t able to gauge the character well. And Nicolas literally killed his character-he was too good in this!

I’m surprised at the comments. I thought this was the best thriller I have seen in awhile. It’s definitely a different kind of horror, so I understand why some would disagree. It has a lot of depth to it, great meaning with dark undertones. Those who get it will understand.

In case you didn't know (you didn't), the director of this film, Oz Perkins, acted in the movie Quigley, a low budget straight-to-video Christian kids movie starring Gary Busey as a cynical billionaire who, after dying in a car accident, comes back to life as a cute Pomeranian dog, to atone for his sins. Perkins is also the son of the titular psycho from Hitchcock's 'Psycho', Anthony Perkins, but that is less important than the fact that in Quigley he plays a guardian angel sent to supervise Gary Busey-dog as he attempts to right his wrongs. Also in the film, Perkins falls on his face a lot, changes outfits about a dozen times, and also explains to Gary Busey that a woman invented the bulletproof vest. Quigley is one of Macauley Culkin's favorites films. As he says: "This shit's hilarious." Oz Perkins wrote and directed Longlegs.

This film isn't as good as I thought it would be, was a let down to be honest however, Nicholas Cage does a great job as longlegs; many memorable lines though didn't have much screen time. His unrevealed appearance that was the main hype to this film for me at least wasn't at all scary other than the first 3 minutes into the film, where the audience gets a glimpse of him before the intro credits roll. I'd give this film a 4/10 rating, only worth the watch/rewatch for Nicholas Cage's short performance.

Trailer made the movie seem a little more actiony then the movie actually was... it felt like it had an idea of what it wanted to be at the beginning that didn't make it to the end somehow. I felt there was a lot to the story that didn't add up or make sense when trying to talk about specific scenes afterwards.
