This video reminds me of the time I worked in a garage we took the Perkins engine out of a Bedford CA ice cream van, took the sump plug out and nothing came out, the oil was the consistency of Swarfega. The owner never took into account the hours the engine was running the Mister Whipy machine. The mileage on the clock was meaningless for oil changes. Really enjoy the channel.

Used to have fuel filter problems like this back in the day when out on contract work the cause was usually fueling up out of old five gallon cans.

I like agriline. I have used them for getting plenty of bits for my Dexta. I had a similar issue with mine. It was hard 2 start. I have to get the engine / fuel pump / injector reconditioned. I upgraded the piston to a 35x piston and had the cylinder bored out. I like how yours doesn't reeve up & down. It's nice.

great vid, looking at the bottom of the old fuel filter I think the spring wasn't contacting the filter to push it up to seal on the housing, is it missing the washer? maybe why the filter looked clean!
@LordMuck2 жыл бұрын
I only just realised I cut out the bit where I put a washer in so the spring made contact. Yes, you're right it was missing when I took the old one out but we used an old hinge washer which raises the filter on the spring.

Seems a bit sluggish on the acceleration there?! My old Dexta used to be off like a startled rabbit when you pulled that old throttle hard back. The old beast seems to start easily though, got to give it that, and I'm just wondering if it's had an engine rebuild in the dim distant past? If you take the oil filler cap off with the engine at idle, does it breathe any blue smoke from the filler, or be she clean as a whistle? - Mine was a heavy smoker before we rebuilt it. I think you have a good one there! 👍🚜🎩

I'm hoping my TEF may improve starting wise now I have been through fuel system. It has had a hard life I reckon someone hung a fair weight off the axle as the radius arms are bent like bananas! When I did the oil change on it was pretty grim, took the strainer out and was pulling fistfuls of congealed oil out the bottom of the sump 🤢

I am currently working on a 73 Ford 3000 to be used on a small farm which has been laid down in the 70's here in Norway, so it will be on your channel I get to experience these fantastic tractors you have available. I appreciate your channel, thank you👍🙂

I always check fuel tank contents if I have just got the machine, water content and shite . On the Drotts and Cats, I remove the tank for a good pressure wash and fill with fresh diesel. Then give it a filter change and feed pipe check. I then have piece of mind . Agriline are good, Rebuilt my 498 Leyland using their parts. Found them fast and parts good quality. This is my latest project, a 1970 ex BR Traxcavator . kzbin.info/www/bejne/nWrQgYKFjLdokLc. Enjoy your videos mate
