So glad to see how much she has enchanted you! Yes, a live performance will absolutely transport you to another dimension. To have her magnificent vocals course around and through you is an experience like no other. In addition to the Wake Me Up live video I previously recommended, you might also consider reviewing Morning Song, another personal favorite of mine. No matter which song you choose, exploring Eivor's vast catalog of songs is well worth the journey...

There's so much more to check out with Eivor. Look at the online performance she did with John Lunn, the composer of the Last Kingdom. Also be aware that Eivor has a very talented younger sister, Elinborg.

This is one of my go-to performances by Eivør, always gives me chills. I also highly recommend the Viking themed concert she did with Wardruna's Einar Selvik and the Danish national orchestra. So, so good. Had the absolute pleasure to see her live three times this year, and every time just blew me away. She's absolutely incredible live. Thanks for reacting to her music :D

Yup! You said it! I both envy and feel sad for you. Envy for you get to discover Eivors music and sad because you could have discovered her a long time ago... She is just amazing. Be safe

About your Question from 04:37 of the video: I guess most people came to see Heilung whom she was supporting at their show and probably didn´t knew her. Btw. she still tours with them on occasion (at Australia and NZ at the moment; next April they will play in London). One of the (many) fascinating things about Eivør is the way she is varying her songs (and the occasinal cover-song) over the years of her artistical journey. "Falling free" for example has been displayed in different musical styles for over 15 years, her other "trademark song" , "Trollabundin" even longer. My recommodations: Lívstræðrir feat. John Lunn (Live at Heaven in London 2022) - another TLK-performance, also a great display of her stage-personality Eivør Pálsdóttir & Arve Henriksen - BOXES- one of her english songs in a jazzy performance from 2019 Eivør - UPP ÚR ØSKUNI - a haunting, mysterious song from her recent album

She is great live! I spoke to her once, in Stockholm. You should try to see her live - and go to the fantastic Faeroe Isles!

Eivor will be touring together with Heilung next year and will be in London (O2 Brixton Academy) on April 15 If you have not yet experienced Heilung then you really need to try them out. They are really something different. Next year will be the last opportunity to see Heilung for some time since the band will go into hiatus middle of next year

I read that comment and immediately bought a ticket. Thank you.

If you really want to find out something about Eivør, I can recommend this little documentary. I met Eivør once in Kobenhagen for work reasons and can only confirm how down-to-earth she is. I think the normal way of dealing with stars like Aurora and Eivør here in Scandinavia is unique in the world.kzbin.info/www/bejne/gKK0qXV4lqlqa8Usi=4-llXcjB7KYAamHG

@@thevikingbuddhawhen you hear her drum for the first time live: it's going to be a life changing experience! her sister elinborg is excellent, too. check out for example sjórok. eivørs husband is - like his daughter - a musician. there is plenty to discover: brimheim, elinborg, heiðrik, guðrið hansdóttir, .....

Eivør was the perfect choice for The Last Kingdom. No one else could've done it justice imo. The whole soundtrack is magnificent. My favourite of hers is Memories of Mother (Farewell to Faye Version) from God of War. I don't think I've actually seen anyone react to that version before. Would be nice!

By the way if you doubt the diversity of Eivor then listen to this version of the same song from the same tour just one or two concerts later. It looks like she had lost her basist (Michael Blak) for this performance so she basically improvised using some samples as backing track. It is an amateur recording but with surprisingly good audio. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bmG0dZ2Fptubi7c

now it's time for some acoustic solo material: slør london solo sessions, or surrender from the same sessions. gloomy sunday. or something older: boxes live 2012 or true love from the same concert ( also in full length available ).

The people in the crowd were likely Last Kingdom fans who discovered her as the co-composer and performer of the soundtrack. She also appeared in one episode. Eivor is the greatest vocalist I have ever seen.
