Hi Srikant, I made this dish today and it was out of this world. Thank you. Quick question: any tips on how to uniformly apply salt, turmeric and red chilli powder? Do the plaintain slices absorb salt if it is put in the lemon water used while slicing? Not that it was a problem, still amazing dish.

Just bought green plantains from the veg vendor this morning. We cook this in coconut oil.

Are Nigella Seeds same as Shahi Jeera? Thanks
@Kis-met3 ай бұрын
No , shahi jeera looks like a very thin darker version of cumin, whereas Nigella seeds are black in colour and tiny . In the video, @3:44 there is a picture of the seeds. Hope this helps.

@@preethachaudhury1390 Thanks for the reply. Yesterday I went to the Indian store, and they didn't know Nigella Seeds. Next time when I go there, I will ask them about kalonji.

Thank you :) , if you can use cold pressed/ kachi ghani mustard oil that works as well. In the original recipe it's the mustard oil that is used.
