Not letting them serve in the same prison was just cruel and a double sentence. They payed for what they did let them out. I thought jail was about rehabilitation so why keep these kids locked up. They now realize they had other options back then they were two scared kids who had been betrayed by the very people who are suppose to look after you. Please let them live some of their life free. They are not killers but victims.

carrollyn aragon I know it's hard to believe parents abuse their kids , but it happens. Unless you have walked a mile in their shoes , you can't know the pain or betrayal, the fear of not knowing when they will go too far and that will be the end. Something that you pray for sometimes, but something you are also terrible afraid of. They tell you , if you tell that's the end , no more house , no more food and if mommy and daddy goes to jail it's your fault. A terrible burden for a child to carry. You are so brainwashed that you think everything is your fault. You don't see options. Some people get a miracle and someone saves them , others are not so lucky. These two boys should be freed , they have paid enough for taking human lives , they endured years apart from each other , I don't think people realize they were each other's life line. That was the cruelest punishment of all.
@Muirmaiden6 жыл бұрын
carrollyn aragon, that doesn't make a good parent. Giving kids money and gifts doesn't make up for unconditional love. My parents gave me the bare necessities but abused me. Should I be grateful for the mistreatment I received just because they gave me a roof over my head? There were times when I didn't want to go home. Children are entitled to the right of being cared for, and that goes beyond food and clothing. A child doesn't ask to be born, and being a parent is a privilege, not a right.

I think they deserve at least another trial where the details of their sexual abuse can be shown unlike the second trial they had where the judge ruled the information out for some reason, resulting in them receiving life jail sentences, its just so sad in all aspects, let them live the second part of their lives free, they have paid the price already.

I'm glad they're together. I remember reading or perhaps seeing on TV, about a man who was a dinner guest at the Menendez's home when these 2 were kids. One of them said something which the father didn't like. Jose Menendez, the father, got angry and told him he would see him later. The guest wrote or said he's been shocked by the horrible panic these simple words caused on the kid. It was something that has stayed with me. Jose Menendez, as a rich Cuban-American, was well capable of violence towards his children. Of course, there's no excuse for killing someone except in self-defense, especially their mum. Some argue it was a fight or flight response from very confused kids. I think by now they have served their time and it's good to see them back
@jerryg35244 жыл бұрын
@Luis Perez Ok I see I've expressed myself incorrectly. I was just reacting to the TV report I mentioned in my comment and why I think one should now show the Menendez bros. some mercy. I have no idea why one of them was so terrified as a boy. And no, I do not think rich Cuban-Americans are disposed to violence. I would apologize for giving this wrong impression except that you're putting words into my mouth. Where did I write that rich Cuban-Americans are basically animals? I still think in general much wealth can turn some parents, men in particular, into despots. History books have gruesome examples of kings who abused their sons. Of course, in the homes of the poor domestic violence from parents to children is also a problem. But the reasons are different & usually the result of poverty, unemployment & alcohol

just curious, I have an open question for anyone saying they should rot apart etc-. have your ever looked into the specifics of the case before judging them? not just relying on the fact that they were convicted, have you actually examined facts of the case and drawn a conclusion yourself based on that? not looking to start beef, I'm just curious how many people cast doubt on our legal system's ability to find justice and how many are willing to judge people as guilty solely because our court said so

Lyle was, is and will continue to be a great brother no matter what. He only wanted to protect himself and his younger brother Erik from those monsters and yet nobody will believe them. They have served their time and deserve to be let out, they were sexually, physically, emotionally and mentally abused by both of their parents and they still got a life sentence because it all got disregarded. I hope to see the day I will watch the news and see these beautiful boys have been let out. We love them so much.

I have a question. We're are the rights of the victims which are the Menendez boys. How are they getting help. I understand be punished for a crime. The real crime is the kids we're being raped by there father with no help from the mother. When the oldest tried to reach out for help he didn't get it and started to molest his brother. Then on his own he realized this change of events need to be stopped. So the only thing the boys had in the world was each other and stopped there pain because they had no one to help them. Instead of giving them mental help and try and fix the problem you lock them up and separate them. I don't call that justice. There are alot of victims that get punished for protection there self after they try to get help from there abuser and when they don't get help and get tired of being hurt they defend there self then here comes the help to lock them up. So sad that's why people are disappearing, ending up in the hospital, on drugs etc etc. Because they are not being heard or helped. Before you give a punishment even as a parent you need to find out why something happen before you give a punishment. The worst thing of all these are men that were being abused and yes it happens and when things are not handled properly then it's hard for other male victims to speak up. May the Lord be with these men he knows there heart

Disgusting parents. The dad was sick but the mother was worse, she was the one who should have protected her sons above all else. When children are sexually abused, there will have been been years of being told to keep quite and there is a lot of shame, anger and guilt. Imagine learning that your mum knew all along and did nothing to protect. It seems on the day that the younger brother found out that his mother had always known, he decided his dad would never touch him again. I'm no expert but it seems mums often turn against their own kids, caught up in all sorts of emotions including regret and jealousy. These boys have served their time and should be released.
