They are manipulative: Real victims would have only killed the alleged father. But they killed thwir innocent mom. They just found out how society would let them get away with murder. They had decades to find out. They are slippery spoiled kids who never learned to respect others. Murderes always find a way to trick people. Otherwise they wouldn't find victims. And those who believe them would be their next victims if they could make it.
@firenze5555

@@TheNewsAnchorYouTrust I agree. The murders were well planned and calculated and the goal was to get their hands on the fortune of their parents. They also pick Rosie O'Donnell who has a history of mental fragility and an easy vulnerable target to play their sympathy card.

@@firenze5555 Even if we presume the sexual abuse by the father is true, what is their excuse for brutally murdering their mother Kitty and threatening to kill Erik's therapist after Erik told him about the murders? There was absolutely no allegations of any sexual abuse by the mother, and she was never a threat to the boys. And Erik apparently never told his therapist, Jerome Oziel, about any sexual abuse by this father, Jose Menendez, despite telling him about the murders. So, there is still one completely uncontested 1st degree murder which would keep them in jail for life (i.e., the murder of Kitt), and no testimony of any history of sexual abuse from Erik's therapist about any sexual abuse by Jose. This attempted public appeal seems to be complete waste of the court's time, as usual.

@@rodneyboehner3007 I have to agree, especially regarding their mother. What is their justification for killing her, too? I believe them about the sexual abuse, but their mother should not have been a casualty, too, unless someone can change my mind....(?)

@@hollyjolly2066 Don't forget Lyle also threatened to murder Erik's therapist, Jerome Oziel, after Erik confessed to him they committed the murders. Yet, despite trusting Oziel enough to confess about the murders, Erik never told him about any sexual abuse by Jose even after going to therapy for years with Oziel. Erik tells Oziel about the murders, but never says a thing over years about any sexual abuse?

It's good to have an open mind and ability to recognise actual truth. As with all complex events, the truth is somewhere in the middle. Only something very extreme would lead to children killing their own parents. Nobody knows what goes through the heads of people who are so far gone that they commit an act of extreme violence completely out of character.

Agreed. I completely support her assessment of what has happened to these men, including what she said about the money spent and the way they handled the murders. Of course they're going to get someone to lie about it and make it look as though they were not the ones who killed their parents. It's not like they felt they could go to anyone for protection considering every time they had done that before, protection was denied. The only way out in their minds were to kill their parents and they knew if they were caught, they would spend their lives in another prison outside of the one they were already living in. Are we really to believe that they wouldn't hide the fact that they had murdered their own parents that was their last resort and they chose that option likely because the threat of imprisonment was less of a risk than being imprisoned as a sexual slave to their own parents. Absolutely sick! These men deserve 100% freedom

@@VerucaSaltyDog Brah, the father never molested the boys. If he did, wouldn't Erik's therapist know about it? After all, Erik told Jerome Oziel everything about the murder. Why not about the sexual abuse? Yet he never said a single word about any sexual abuse by Jose. Also, if Kitty knew about any sexual abuse, the last person in the world the boyz would want to kill is her because the only chance they have of being acquitted of killing their father for any alleged sexual abuse would be the only credible witness who could attest of knowing about the sexual abuse which is Kitty. Yet, they murdered her too. Why? Because they knew she would not attest to this molestion which never happened. The boyz are guilty of planning a double murder of killing the father who was about to disown them for disgracing the family with a string of burglaries in Calabasas and their mother who could not attest to their fake alibi of being sexually molested. The most evil part of their plan was they wanted it to look like a mob hit on both Jose & Kitty, when they knew it was because they got arrested a year before for a string burglaries they committed in Calabasas. This molestation excuse is completely fake. They were dangerous criminals before the murder, so you have all the answers right there. They were about to get disowned.

Do you know how many murderers are in jail that were abused as children, most psychopaths that were hit men for gangs who executed innocent people. Don’t let your own life experience be compared with the menendez brothers. They’re manipulative monsters. Premeditated murder is a lot different to snapping. Kitty is a genuine victim, she was hunted and executed in her own home by 2 completel psychopaths. What they did is far worse, they could’ve got together and put their father in jail for years and then on a sex offender watch list if the abuse claims are true. I was a teenager in the 90s and the whole world was on high alert with all the priests abusing boys. You don’t spend a million dollars the week after killing both of your parents. Sick.

I am a victim of sexual abuse by several men including a family member. My mother was physically and mentally abusive and controlling. We also didn’t have money. Not once did I ever think bout murdering any one of them. I was more intent on taking my own life. I never for one minute believed them. At 18 and 21 they could have left like I did. I agree 100%. You can have rich parents and live in a palatial palace, and still be a victim of emotional and sexual abuse. They were prisoners of their narcissistic parents without a hope of many, or even any, believing them accusing prominent citizens. The fear and the control during incest is all consuming. They already served their lives in the Hell of their parent's prison. They deserve a reprieve. They deserve a life.

If you’ve never been a victim of sexual abuse, you can’t comprehend the level of trauma that comes with it for the victim. There were even teachers, coaches, and neighbors that testified about witnessing other forms of abuse from both Jose and Kitty. The jury never heard any of that, of course. I have always believed them. I was a child when this trial was going on and even then I was baffled as to why they weren’t allowed to say what happened to them in the second trial. The OJ trial was going on at the same time with the biggest joke of a jury of all time. I believe the humiliating OJ loss made the conviction of the Menendez brothers at any cost the goal of district attorney. It was an egregious violation and breach of justice and legal and moral ethics. Absolutely despicable. They were convicted bc they were rich kids. They had behaved badly as teenagers and got into trouble at school. That kind of acting out is totally normal for kids who are being abused. Savagely abused as a matter of fact. But it was just so easy for a jury who didn’t know the reasoning behind it to say these were homicidal spoiled monsters who wanted their parents money. I was happy when the brothers were reunited and allowed to live at the same prison. I truly hope they will be released. They have served their time and paid in full for defending themselves. It’s sick what was done to those boys by the court system.

Thank you Rosie, for raising your voice, in order to help these 2 men, who didn't get a fair chance at life, at all. In general people do not understand how soul destroying sexual abuse is. It is a combination of mental, verbal, emotional, physical, AND sexual abuse. Many times combined with financial abuse because children are dependent on their parents to survive. Combined with social abuse, because the victims get isolated. And combined with serious threats and lies in order to cover up all the abuse, so unsafety is permanent. Sexual abuse is TOTAL abuse. Children who grow up like that have no experience of what is 'normal'. They cannot develop their own identity because they need to submit to the (sick) identity of the abuser(s) to survive. Nor do they know where to turn to for help or how to do that. They are brainwashed into believing they are the problem AND (!) that they have to solve any kind of problem themselves, because help doesn't exist in their world. The efforts they make to search help, many times have (again) more destructive consequences, because the people around them have no clue, they simply don't understand what is going on or don't know how to deal with it. I also think people in general don't understand how soul destroying it is when the mother 'simply' said "she knew all along", to be continued by feeling sorry for herself (and not one bit for the boys), continued by demanding attention (again) for her feelings and needs, in an agressive way. In that 'casual ' message she makes clear to the boys that their existence, their identity, their bodies, their (normal and basic) needs don't matter at all. It's only about how she feels, and what her needs are, even if that means that her children have to suffer continuously things that are sick, painful and beyond comprehension. So she demands compassion beyond comprehension, while she lacks compassion beyond comprehension. At that moment all hope dies ..... But the problem is that they baught some rolexes, right ? Yes, lets all pretend that that is the problem here. Let's simply not understand that that was a completely (normal) trauma response towards a completely abnormal and totally overwhelming lifetime of TOTAL abuse. Yes, lets just not understand anything at all and just throw them in jail, forever. Problem solved. REALLY ?! They need to be released yesterday. And you, Rosie, are at the right side of history, brave enough and compassionate enough to speak out. Thank you !

I know someone who committed suicide this year. He was molested by his father as a child for several years and his mother knew and did nothing. If their father did this, he deserved severe punishment but it's too bad they handled it the wrong way. If the mother knew and let it go on, she was despicable as well. I understand what can be done to the mind of a victim and it's horrific. They just felt it was the only way to get away from this monster. The person I knew has a father who is living his life while his son is dead and buried. It infuriates me and we didn't go to the funeral because we didn't want to see this despicable "mom and dad". With Lyle, Erik, seems there was letters, and witness ( Diane) that they spoke up, but nothing was told to law enforcement. I just don't get passive behavior from the victims circle. There is a madam who in the 90s recounted that Jose Menendez was one of her girls clients. She had to cancel him as a client as he was so sadistic with them and nobody wanted to serve him anymore as a customer. This should be taken into consideration and evaluated as evidence aswell from the DA.

They have MORE than served their time on Manslaughter. This makes me sick. I pray that they get another court hearing. Even having to relive it again in a second hearing, would be more trauma. However, the sooner that they get out, the better. I just wish this person from Menudo would have come forward sooner. My heart breaks for them, both. Let’s pray that we correct this miscarriage of justice. 😢❤❤

It's really crazy that people can give grace and a second chance to gypsy rose but want these two brothers to pay forever, they were abused too and they felt it was the only way out as crazy as that sounds. the father was a monster and he deserved exactly what he got i just wish it was done to him through the court system not at the hands of the victims.

Gypsy? There’s clear evidence of the abuse she suffered. She also attempted to escape her mother and was later brought back to her. The brothers had the skills and ability to know how to seek help. They knew they had other options. Gypsy probably felt there was no other way to escape her mother’s abuse. Finding this creep online that had an interest in murdering someone was her ticket for freedom. Big difference. But in saying that, let them out. They’ve done their time.

The only difference is that gypsi wasn’t SA, the brothers were mentally, physically and S abused, gypsi was 23 years old when she decided to end with her abuser, the Menéndez were 18 and 21, gypsi had many people that loved her and helped her, the brothers just had his powerful father and a submissive mother who knew about the abuse and decide to be an accomplice and do nothing about it, I think they had paid enough and as gypsi have another opportunity.

When you are severely abused for years, you can snap one day, and you might suddenly realize that there is no other way out of the torment. There are quite a few cases of teenage boys killing their father for abusing them or their mother or siblings. The Menendez brothers have paid for their crime long enough. They should be freed.

Psychologist here: Although 22 & 18, childhood sexual abuse causes the brain to be rewired and would have likely caused their emotional age to have been much younger at the time of the killings. Also, many point to their spending after the deaths as evidence of a motive of greed when in actuality this was likely a trauma response. I see so much wrong here and I agree with Rosie that they deserve a resentencing hopefully leading to immediate release.
