Thanks, Tony. Great video. I got a MacMini M1 with an ipad Pro linked with Luna display in order to use the iPad like a drawing tablet for Photoshop and Bitwig. At 16Gigs, it works great, I see no latency or anything like that. Especially with music. My PC is great for gaming, but it just doesn't deliver in performance when it comes to painting and musical composing as a Mac. My disappointment with the MacMini is the lack of ports - and they forgot the SD slot! For card reading, I rely on the iPad. Hubs and docks are great, but Luna Display won't work unless plugged in directly, and for music, I need to plug my sound card directly as well or I will get intermittent sputtering. But on the Mac Studio, look at all those juicy thunderbolt ports, plus Apple remembered the SD card slot! My fear about getting the Studio is that the M2 might come out in about a year, and I'll be stuck with a chrome dinosaur. Had that happen with Mac back in the 90s when I got the last top-of-the-line power tower before they went G-cer. Couldn't do much with it after a year or so of use.

I do fear about purchasing things at the wrong time but one thing I’ve learned is that if I get something that surpasses the capability of my present needs, then I’m future proofed and won’t envy the new devices that inevitably come along. I was hoping apple would make a Mac mini pro but when the studio came out and I got it, I realized that this is exactly what I need. Something that far exceeds my needs today and will last me well into the future

Great video! :) I'm waiting for my mac studio base model (but with 64GB of RAM) to arrive, but these lead times are rough XD. I've been a mac only user for work stuff for 13 years now as a developer so I echo the sentiments. For me, I switched to mac because I used to use Linux distro's as my daily driver in the past, and going to mac was basically keeping all the Unix good stuff but having support for the apps I used a ton (like the Adobe Creative Cloud apps). The computer is just a tool when it comes to work, and you should pick the tool that makes you do the best work, not the one that looks best on paper, and for me thats a Mac Studio in this instance. :)

Apple always put too little flash memory in their base model iPhones and Macs. I would recommend buying the base model of the Mac Studio but with 1 or 2 Tb instead of the default none upgradable 0.5 Tb of Flash memory. One additional advantage of buying a larger SSD that I discovered is that the larger Apple SSDs are faster.
