It begins "WE THE PEOPLE" that is where our Christianity ends in government. There is nothing Christian about the government getting its power from the consent of the people. Greetings from a year late lol First time listener to the “podcast” even if through KZbin. I have enjoyed the Babylon bee for a long time and totally appreciate their ministry… I operate out of a Christian satirical/comedic framework as well! I had not heard from Doug Wilson before and was interested in this conversation in a number of ways, so I appreciate the serious aspects of it as well as well. 😊 At around the 30 minute mark, he makes the comment that no Christian in their right mind should in any way wish for, agitate for, or try to bring about civil war. And then blames Democrats for “poking the bear.” I legitimately did a double take when I heard that. And in a serious conversation, I thought loudly to myself “you can’t be serious.” For the last seven or eight years, I have been trying to keep Christians from leaving Christianity because of the divisive, hateful, and violent rhetoric coming from the Christian nationalist evangelicals on the right that have put party and people over their faith in Christ. While unable to believe it myself, I try to tell them “not all Christians are like that.” It is constant. Language from “Christian“ leaders who vilify other civilians (who are both believers and unbelievers) and accuse them of being Satan, isn’t Christ-like and doesn’t belong in “Christendom” or in our civil politics. People that believe differently than you either politically or spiritually are not your “enemy.” it’s unAmerican to say so and certainly unChristian. Multiple studies have been done that say the greatest form of terrorism right now is not from some foreign entity, but is from within the borders of our nation. Most of those are referencing Christian white supremacist movements, who have been told to stand back and standby. And they are. Just because some Democrats or Independents believe that there is a “likelihood that Civil War will happen in the next ten years“ does not mean in anyway they want it to. I don’t think they are “poking the bear“ as much as they are “pointing to the bear“ (with minds blown away like myself) - saying “How can they even be THINKING this, let alone saying it.” I’m grateful that Wilson’s calling for peace from a position whose adherents in many ways - to my observations - are not … Peace out…and in, my friends

Two ways to use the Sword of the Spirit. Pull a John the Baptist and tell Herod “It is not lawful for you to have your brother’s wife.” ; And make disciples of all the nations baptising them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit teaching them to OBEY EVERYTHING Jesus commanded. That is the way to have a gentle reformation and not a violent revolution resulting in the obligatory reign of terror. Isaiah 42 Behold my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen, in whom my soul delights; I have put my Spirit upon him; he will bring forth justice to the nations. He will not cry aloud or lift up his voice, or make it heard in the street; a bruised reed he will not break, and a faintly burning wick he will not quench; he will faithfully bring forth justice. He will not grow faint or be discouraged till he has established justice in the earth; and the coastlands wait for his law.
