The dark accent wall with mouldings lifted the whole room and made his very stylish furniture sing. You really should do more room makeovers for men - you’ve got a real flare for masculine design.

I wouldn't necessarily call ANY style feminine or masculine or girly and manly, let alone this one. I'd use different adjectives instead, like cute vs sophisticated, or cosy vs minimal, vintage vs contemporary, boho vs industrial, etc. I dislike it when people associate pink, pom poms, bows, pastels, florals, extra decor and what not with women and more modern, sleek styles and decor with men. I acknowledge it unfortunately exists, but it's actually something we desperately need to get rid of, because every style is a choice that anyone can make, regardless of gender. A man might love pink walls and fur throw pillows and a woman can enjoy darker palettes and elegant, stylish decor, for example. This style is MUCH closer to mine and I'm a woman as well.

Loved this one! The darker colours, the metal and "leather" textures... and that desk was the best as it was genuinely functional. Seems you nailed his personality and needs in this room so well. All these things make me happy!

The desk is such an interesting and thoughtful choice that really seems to take his needs (and constraints) into consideration. Same with the music station. Xico's build was form and function with the display side and hidden storage. What a chic room design!

Ohh I loved this transformation! I always thought you rarely use a different color other than baby pink and sage ( I love them and not complaining at all!) But with the use of this deep green/blue color you proved that you can definitely design and think out of the box. I loved it!

That “desk” chair is beautiful, and the same goes for all the dining chairs you’ve used in this series. I’m just always concerned that it’s not gonna be comfortable enough to work from for hours. I can attest that getting a non office chair is SUPER comfortable! Much better than an office chair and it makes sense too, think about how often ur sitting in your kitchen table just chillin.

Alexandra, you are very deceiving. To look at your appearance and nice, humble disposition one would not think of you as an edgy designer. The "before" was actually fine. But the transformation is very Hugh Hefner-smoking room-leather-male sexiness. I think it's that deep green accent wall plus sconces. It darkens the room and gives it a romantic, sexy vibe. Then the rest of the room is very masculine. It all adds up nicely. Best one in awhile!

This is REALLY good - that accent wall looks so great, but what I find really cool is how you managed to do so much with his existing stuff and just pull it all together and improve the room. Shows the power of making good choices in a space without having to do huge overhauls of everything - but the space has changed so much in look and vibe. Awesome work. It's also really neat to see other sides to your design style, too.
