That looks amazing, I am wondering if there is a way to print out the pieces and use as a mould to use a hand router and a jigsaw to complete the project. Anyone done a version with a cushion?

really great project! I was looking for a modern chair from plywwod whose height could be adjusted. I am planning to make a walnut dining table and want to keep the max height of the chair to be flushed with height of the table. That would give a very clean look to the whole setup and help to appreciate the beauty of the walnut table top. These plans are perfect!

Wow. This looks really nice, and I think I may try this build this weekend. It looks really overbuilt with the dimensions you use, and I'm wondering if 12mm plywood would still provide enough strength on the legs.

Interesting. Nice video, beautifuly done. I like the scandinavian design. However, I have how much plywood is wasted. I challenge you to design the chair with minimal waste possible! More joints is okay :) Or I shall try it myself and share the result :) Chairs!

Hello, I am hoping in the future to remix this to help those who are looking to escape DV situations as well as help those get back on their feet. My goal for the remix is to be able to disassemble by removing screws and stow the screws in the seat, and when disassembled it will lay flat for storage or moving.
@bubba6945 Жыл бұрын
add you a sacrificial board under the plywood and cut it thru. that is my opinion of how id do it but whatever works is good

Absolutely beautiful! Roughly how many chairs can 8ft by 4ft plywood make?
@TheSwedishMaker3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! One sheet would make for two chairs.
@tech4772 жыл бұрын
Very nice. A little improvement, if I may: the rounding of the seat should start immediately after the end of the back leg to a void the widening gap between the two. I'm quite sure you can make 3 or even 4 chairs from a sheet of plywood (by splitting some pieces). Sorry for the dragons.
@TheSwedishMaker2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! The leg pieces could for sire be divided more as they leave a lot of empty space around them. As for the rounding of the seat - totally agree.

That's a really good looking chair. There was loads of design work that went into it and it's good to see a bit of the process as you made the prototype. I was wondering as you made the dowel jigs if you could have cut at least some of those with the CNC? Maybe using some sort of mortice and tenon joint cut but the CNC might also be an option. (Appreciate that would have probably added to the two day deadline in CAD time though :)

Awesome project.and very well explained. i have downladed the plans and hope to cut them using the svg files in vectric pro. stupid question but what are the dimensions for the parts so i can scale the vectors accordingly in vectric and nest them before cutting? thank you for your help.

i bought the plans a week ago, and i cut up version of the chair, i found that the angle from the seat to the back rest 80 degrees, and this makes this design very uncomfortable to sit on, as 80 degrees sitting posture is ergonomically shit!! so i think a new sitting posture is on the cards, perhaps somewhere in the 100 - 105 degrees.
@TheSwedishMaker3 жыл бұрын
Your right that the angle isnt ideal for leaning back. That would be a welcome upgrade to it. I´ve yet to find time to make it but all the files are available for free download.

I think it's a gimmick. The computer work is limiting to the craft, unless you're mass producing. The birch plywood is so expensive that you can easily buy planks of red oak for the same price...
