my female Staffy loved our cat and my in law's Airdale......she didn't want to know any other dogs or cats....she loved ALL people and had a true sense of humour..........she passed away peacefully in her sleep aged 16 yrs and 3 months back in 2012......I still miss her.

Just came here to listen to how great staffies are tbh. Had my baby girl nearly 10 years now. Best mate and softest, most affectionate being I've ever known. We visit her mum and dad regularly, they all play and get on. The only downside to owning a staffy its like having a kid in the toddler stage but they never grow out of it. They want your attention and affection 24/7 lol

We had three Staffordshires, but they all have there wings now. After some while the house was just empty, we now have a brother and sister, control is fine, simply, I'm the big dog, and everybody goes to ground with a look. My dogs are always happy playing. Excellent videos.

Our two female staffies Rox and Ruby were absolutely no problem ,Roxy the elder was the boss , but they never fought. Even though they had a bed each , we would find them hugged up together in one bed . We lost Roxy , our black staffy ,two years ago aged 15 ,but Ruby is still with us aged 12 ,Red staffyv,lovely girl with a lovely temperament,never has she damaged or chewed a thing in the house ,and sleeps most of the day . However she knows when it’s time for her feed and always lets us know if she needs to go out . Staffys are such wonderful dogs if brought up right .

I was babysitting a male staffy from a friend of mine during the summer, and my experience is they are great with people but not great with other dogs. Everytime a dog walked and didn't show him "respect" he'd get aggressive and want to fight. Luckily I had the strength to control him.

I’ve owned Stafford’s for over 20 years & even had a couple of litters in that time .. I’ve had female’s that are bigger than the males, I’ve always had multiple females as I’d never own two males as the same time as they are more likely to fight & when they fight they really go for it. I’ve been in a situation where all four of mine have been fighting each other at the same time (3 females & 1 male) the females are more forgiving to each other & can’t be but bk together pretty much immediately after the fight where as males stay hyped for a while after so u need to be careful. I’ve found females to be more dedicated to me & the family as where the males will push the boundaries more. One thing I can say is they are brilliant family pets & love kids & are extremely gentle to babies. All mine have been around my children since birth & they love the kids. I’m down to my last staffie now my male he’s just turned 13 so I’m worried he’s not got much longer left as all mine have passed between ages of 13-14 years old. We will definitely own more staffies in the future

You know this breed and you tell the truth, thats clear to me.. I had american pitbull terriers for over 35 years and same story here. They are great dogs in general , loyal to the bone and very very friendly towards humans and especially children.. But you almost must be prepared for fights that can occur out of nowhere ( dog vs dog ) The american staff a little less but the staffordshire bull terrier , altough very little and the worst guard dog possibly , CAN fight like the american pitbull terrier on almost the same level whereas the american staffordshire in general is less driven . Lots of people also in my country underestimate the little staffie but they can and will go for it all the way when cornered. Love these three breeds still and they never stop amaze me with their absolute kindness in almost any other scenario.

THANK YOU! someone who knows what they are talking about. so many channels and people say you can have lots of these dogs and pitties in one home. people act like it is fine, they will be fine. and they are left unsupervised. i have done rescue for over 20+ years and do not have good luck in having one of these dogs finding a bestie and being 100% safe leaving them alone, NO WAY! they can be besties for a year and if something ticks on of them off, and they get into it. you are in trouble. 2 incrredibly strong animals that both do not want to stop or give up. i have since stuck with a pittie or staffie regardless of sex is always kept alone. i may let them play with another dog, always opposite sex and only if i am there at all times. never left alone. this is the first time in so long i have heard accurate and responsible information being given! thank you!

She loved us both and also any dog in the dog park - very loving nature. She had a few fights with street cats and she always lost, poor pupp :) Unfortunately, this beautiful angel got a brain tumour and passed after 3.5 years having her. We miss her very much. Not my experience had both males and females, they both share these traits,it depends on the dog ,not the sex of the dog,i had two males both werent netured and they got along just fine.They only had one disagreement which wasnt serious..i am an experienced staffy owner and understand some people might not know how to train them properly.If they do have a fight u have to let them know this is not acceptable and you are in charge,Its better then losing one of them or one of them getting hurt.My boys got on really well their personalitys fitted together in a way that they completed eachother.Always give both dogs equal attention is also a must.It really depends in the dogs personalitys if they will get along.

exactly mate, well put, people generally own staffys by themselves for a good few years, and generally keep them as house dogs like a jack russell, which actually makes them act more like them dogs, as they are never really socialized and think just getting another dog is fine, yet a golden retriever could react worse then staffy if you do something like that, people dont understand that dogs that get a long great with other dogs are either raised with other dogs, or they are very socialized outside of the house, but to have a lets say "perfect" dog, you need a good balance of both

i think this video needs a lot more context, to say to female staffies cant live together is a stretch, the reason people think that is because people buy staffies as just the one dog and then when its older they buy another dog, which could be a massive problem no matter the breed, and the main reason for staffies is in fact jealousy, because they are very "all about them" in that sense, its only if you have two fully grown staffies and try get them to live together all of a sudden, same with any dog to be honest, but staffies possessiveness over their family makes it worse when you just introduce another fully grown dog of any breed, but if you raise your staffy with other dogs, bring it to dog parks, over stimulate its social side and you'll have a perfect dog, but people generally get staffys and keep them inside a lot and only walk them by themselves, basically a house dog thats lives with no other dogs, which results in the dog not having a clue how to be around another dog, as all dogs would, and then you get a fight or someone gets bitten

this is so incredibly accurate i hate listening to fools talk about how its no issue to have more than 1 staffie. yes you can, but when u r not able to supervise you have to separate, shit happens and it is usually bad. i have experienced just about every single thing this video mentioned doing rescue i feel strongly that staffies, pitties, ect should be a one pet dog. no other pets in the household, THEN u have a great pet. i still do rescue, ahve done it for over 25 years. so i do most times have more than one pit bull type dog, BUT they are always separated, always. i almost always get them as an adult, so i dont know the past whenever i have tried to integrate them maybe with one buddy, it almost always does not work. and of course i let them choose their friend. i also have found that once a fight happens, thats that, they dont forget and they label the other dog enemy. i probably am wayyy more cautious than others, but breaking up pittie fights is brutal. so i just have chosen to keep them separate at all times i just make sure that anyone kept separate gets tons more mom time than the others. i make myself their bestie. i swear when i see people with 2 or more pitties i just dont know how they do it????

Great video. Just one point id like to make. You said a breeder should allow you to visit the puppies a few times so you can get to know them. I would say if a breeder didn't want you to meet the puppy before you brought it walk away. I've had both male and female SBT's. I've always found females softer, more loving. Plus they don't want to cock their leg at every lamppost. At the moment I have a mother and daughter pair of SBT.

How do your 2 girls get along? We are thinking of keeping one of our girls pups but worry that if we get a mother and daughter that they will fight
@paulfletcher3998
@paulfletcher3998 2 жыл бұрын
@@jemmawitcombe9400 they are super close. They are never apart. They're always cuddled up together. They sleep together, play together do everything together. If one goes into a different room the other follows. They do play fight and they go hard sometimes but it's only playing. The only thing I need to watch is feeding time. The daughter eats her food quickly and if allowed to she'll come over and push mum away from her food and eat it. Mum just allows her to so I don't have to worry about a proper fight, just mum only gets half her food so I stand in between them with bowls on different sides of the kitchen but apart from that all is well. But I'm super lucky with these two. I volunteer for a Staffie rescue and was asked to collect them and foster them while a home was found. As soon as I meet them I fell I'm love and within 24 hours I'd decided I was going to adopt them. I wasn't planning on adopting one dog let alone two but we just clicked. I'd fostered 11 dogs before these two, no more than two at a time. While I loved them all I didn't keep because my plan was to just foster but I saw how special they were and didn't want to let them go. The daughter often lays right on top of her mother and she just let's her. It can't be comfortable for her but she seems happy enough. At night they both spoon together at the end of my bed. I'd say two females, if they're both properly socialised and trained and been together since birth would be less likely to fight than two males. I feel happy leaving them at home because they've got each other. They just curl up together on the sofa or in the conservatory in the summer. They're always happy when I get home but they leave each other.

She is 13/14 yrs old (I recently adopted her, and I don't know her exact age), and the energy level and strength of this dog is incredible. I don't know where you live, but I live on the Northeastern seaboard. We have interesting weather here. Right now, it's the middle of winter but with springtime temperatures. Ordinarily, we are in the teens and low 20's. If you live in an area like mine, get your dog coats, sweaters and boots. He/she will need it.

Is it normal that the puppies bite a lot? My 9 week old Staffy bites me and my clothes any chance she gets. She’ll catch me off guard and snap at me.

@LiciaBe, It is normal for them to bite a lot. For my staffies, I bought lots of chew toys for them. When you puppy snaps at you, correct the behavior. It’s best to teach them when they are puppies. The sooner you correct, the better. Their puppy teeth do fall out. Any bad behaviors they do, show them that you do not like what they did. They are excellent at picking up peoples energy. They bite a lot because they are teething. It’s equivalent to an infant drooling for the same reason.

There are plenty of American staffies but not many English ones. I could not handle and American staffy, but we rescued an Ebglish staffy, a girl and it was the best period of our lives. She brought so much love and joy into our lives. Unfortunately she got a brain tumour and passed away. Our little angel.

Great video I have had two staffis and I would say having a male and female together is your best bet, I had to have my 13yr old female put to sleep in March 2021 she was suffering from cancer, My male Star was a little lost so six months ago got a Staffie X bitch and the status quo has both dogs living the bed o locker STAFFIES RULE Chris UK ❤️

Had my own staffy and sometimes had to look after my fathers staffy both males and yes they got on like best friends and then all of sudden they would start fighting had to separate them on many occasions which isnt easy and they do bite chunks out of each other ,so I wouldn’t recommend 2 males living together .

Here in Oz desexing of dogs and cats is the norm, except for registered breeding animals. It seems from these videos that keeping entire animals is commonplace in other countries; must get a lot of unplanned pregnancies and some behavioural issues as well.

We had a half brother and sister, same dad different mom, he never tried to hump her even once. He used to let her know that he was the boss now and then and she was fine with that. He used to lay next to her and clean her ears for her and was a perfectly good big brother towards her. So the answers yes, as long as they're raised and trained right then you can definitely have a male and a female staffy live together with no problems at all they were both awesome dogs until the day each of them passed away. RIP Zeus and Missy, forever missed.

Don't go to a breeder!!!! There are so many wonderful staffies.& staffie mixes in shelters. I've had many dogs in my 67 years, but my staffie from the shelter where I volunteered has been the best dog I've ever had. And get your dog spayed/neutered!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This video is bologna. Every dog is like a human & has individual personality. And I've seen homes with 4 staffies together. I have 2 little rescues & have fostered 12 dogs over time with my staffie. She's been awesome with ALL of them.

1st piece of wrong information in this video: All dogs, regardless of gender, should be desexed so separating males from females in heat should not be an issue. Unless you are a registered breeder, you should not have an intact animal. 2nd piece of wrong information in this video: EVERYTHING ELSE! No idea where this woman is getting her “facts” from, but it’s all BS! Any owner of one or more Staffies will disagree with 95% of this video.

@@boneybone8123 honestly, get kennels that they and especially you learn how to use properly, ie. not as punishment and more as safe space/reward... or seperate places in the home when you are out, if you have it... believe me, a new/nervous dog can go through an interior door in no time, including the 13 y old jack, if so inclined... i keep toys and food away when not home with multi dogs... but saying that, many dogs can be fine together... introductions, time, space, personalities, history and more all account how they do... one thing i learned a long time ago is the "rule of three"... i go a little farther with it... for me its 3 min, 3 hrs, 3 days, 3 weeks and 3 months etc... knowing this "rule" can help a lot, or at least it has for me... i fucked up when i was a kid, it was bad... never again... and very important, dogs are almost like empaths, many can read you like a book... stay calm and relaxed, it helps a lot... best wishes and stay safe, they ALL deserve the best from us
