There's no automatic tracking, so he has to call in the turns. I don't think any tracking on GPS would work with the terrain and unnamed dirt roads around here.

I agree. I think he was losing focus on driving by talking too much. But the dispatcher wasn't the cause. Her job is to "Echo" what he's saying. The purpose is so that other units can hear the info from the more easily heard dispatcher. Especially in older radio systems, we couldn't hear the mobile units as well as the base station. The one time she did quiz him was when she was not sure if it was "55th" or "56th" street. When I was a PSAP commander, that was exactly what I taught. If you don't know where he is, ask till you do. On the other side of that, the "Fifty-fifth" vs Fifty-sixth" sound alike ambiguity can be eliminated by simply saying "Five-five..." or "Five-six street", as pilots and ATCs would do.

I don't get it, I really don't. These cops pursue these guys for miles and miles, putting countless innocent lives at stake. When they finally stop the guy, they park their cars far enough to allow to bad guy to drive away again and put more innocent lives at risk.
