Great lesson! As a native Chinese speaker from Taiwan, I usually use '更何况' instead of just '何况' to add more emphasis. For example, at 24:43 in the video, you said '这道题连老师都不会, 何况我们呢?'. I would say '这道题连老师都不会了, 更何况我们呢?'. It probably comes down to personal preference and style. I like combining '连...了' with '更何况...' for added emphasis. By the way, your Chinese fluency is absolutely fantastic! I hope one day I can speak English as fluently as you speak Chinese!

This is a great video but as an aside I think it's great that you include both male and female audio of all the phrases in your courses, because i only ever had female Chinese teachers and when i first got to China i found that i couldn't understand men at all!!! So this is a great detail to think about and add

I know it's not the main method you preach, but these types of videos about important non-noun non-verb words are invaluable to the way I learn languages in general. Once you identify these types of words you basically just have to infere the noun and sentences become a puzzle where you have all the structure and just have to fill in the pieces

You have to understand that these videos you guys are doing are a godsend, and I easily feel they're gonna become legendary. BTW, I was wondering if you guys' phrase vault is available for Anki?
@Trhnetesiuz23 күн бұрын
They generally don't support Anki as it is way too hard for them to protect their materials. Instead they use their platform. Though I was wondering if there isn't at least PDF for this. It would be nice to be able to print it out.

As someone with upper intermediate Chinese, I didn't think I would find this too useful. It was linked to me by my beginner friend.. But I gotta say, it still absolutely helped. I more or less knew, or had at least heard of most if not all of them but didn't necessarily know the nuances of them before watching this (e.g. 哪怕). The biggest surprise/lesson I got from this? 不过 not being able to used before something positive. I had absolutely no idea! I tend to always use 但是which doesn't have that "problem" I kind of expected to see 甚至, 连, 即便 but they didn't come up! Keep up the good work. Have seen your videos for a while and they're great

If you could pause just for one second after delivering an example sentence, to give us time to glance at the written translation and check our comprehension? You stop speaking and immediately the written translation disappears and the next one appears. For people trying to comprehend your spoken language without cheating by reading along, we don't even have time to pause the video. It's already gone and I have to actually back track to see it. Thanks! Love your content.

why do you pronounce the 但 in 但是 more "American" than the 但 in 不但 (I learnt the 不但 pronunciation)? BTW your video on speaking Chinese is very helpful. I think when learning any language it's better to start [only] with listening and speaking because if you acquire a wrong accent it is very difficult to later on change that accent.
