Our 2023 Newmar Dutch Star electrical blew up and it cost $15,000 to get fixed -Of course this happened 3 months after our 1 year warranty expired-Newmar said “pound sand” Our ESP saved us -that $15,000 exceeds what we paid for the ESP -I couldn’t imagine having that $15,000 bill -This whole experience shocked us to the core 🤷‍♀️🤯

I have that forever warranty and I do have to take in for annual inspection. They recommended packing wheel bearings after 11 months and 700 miles of towing. I declined and opted to do myself. All I have to do is document the work and or parts. That being said because of my knowledge and ability to use tools I am comfortable with having annual inspections at the cost of 250.00 per year. That one visit per year keeps my significant systems/ appliances warranted for the duration of my ownership. I am comfortable with that as my dealer is close by.

Great video, my dealer “Lazy Days” looks like they are in financial distress. Being a retired CPA, I looked up their latest 10k and 12/31 financials. They were ugly with virtually no working capital and they had to draw on their line of credit. Can’t wait to see the June 30th 10k report.

you hire an inspector to go thru all the systems prior to warranty expiration, like I do with homes, I do a home inspection & recommend a return visit prior to the "home shield" warranty expiring.

I have been a snowbird to Tucson from Alaska. After watching your videos and others as well, I am a little scared of traveling again. I also am hesitant on purchasing another RV. My current 2016 Outdoors RV has been trouble free so far other than routine maintenance. Seems like most RVs are not being built as well as they used to be. I purchased a Good Sam extended warranty for peace of mind and had to use it on my TV. Good Sam paid everything quickly, except for my deductible. I am hesitant on purchasing another extend warranty due to all of the exclusions in most contracts. I have saved enough in my special RV fund to cover any problems that might occur, so I don’t think it would be wise on purchasing another ESP. Any good news in the RV world?

I would never trust a Dealer to do a Pre-Expiration PDI. Dealers and Repair Shops should be separated. Too many ethical issues with Dealers.

I totally agree with you. I’m an RV expert witness and I can tell you what I know dealers that fabricate pre-delivery inspections before they sell those coaches to the customers and a lot of them are fraudulently developed to make you believe they check the RV out. The RV industry is one of the biggest businesses in the country and the American people that want to enjoy our country in a camper are always gonna have problems with the RV industry. Yes I’ve gone up against RV dealers in court as an expert witness and I’m doing another one very soon.

The Fast Buck RV Industry does not care about Customers, only Stockholders. Maybe 5-7 Good to Great RV Companies out there. Go find’m.

We bought a 21 Jayco used in 22 and we bought an esp and so glad we did because the only problem we have had is the sorry GE ac that is on it. It has the second ac on it since we bought it.

I think it makes sense to have an ESP for the same length as the loan on the RV.

I have a question since a forever warranty was mentioned. It came with our pop up camper that we bought used a 2022 Rockwood Freedom 1940LTD. Should I be concerned and not go back to the dealer to maintain this warranty? It was included. Our dealer is local to us so going back once a year is no big deal but is it even worth bothering to keep the forever warranty intact?

These guys should form a Comedy Duo and take it on the road. The Keven guy preached against ESP and Now All of a sudden they are a good idea. And of course we heard once again about the used RV place again. SMH. Yet another reason NOT to buy ANY Rv. - Word.

Yes the tech shortage is real!! A place that used to service my 2014 Jayco Melbourne when I owned it well during covid 2020-2021 lost a lot of good techs & new hires were clueless. The service manager was complaining to me about how the new young guys couldn’t care less about learning, doing a good job, etc. it was very frustrating for him . . & for me! They screwed up more than they fixed!! :-(
