@@tisbaegaming actually he can't. Well yes he can but only if she allows it and she didn't. If Australia is anything like the US then the choice is completely hers. She can abort or keep. If the woman wants to keep the baby and wants him to pay for it then that's what happens no matter what he says. In fact it doesn't have to even be his kid. Plenty of men just had their name put on the BC without their knowledge and then were forced to pay child support for kids that weren't theirs. There are countless stories of parental fraud in the US and I wouldn't be surprised if Australia was the same. Men forced to pay for someone else's kids just because the court says it's better for the kid. I don't blame this father for being salty about the disparity. The first story, OPs "father" was acting more like a teenager than the actual teenager was. The father seems to want praise for doing the bare minimum any parent should (taking his motherless son in) and there's a distinct sense of "I already paid for this child's upbringing once, why should I have to pay for his unkeep again?" I wonder if the father likes controlling people using money, because otherwise I don't understand how OP buying lots of expensive things was a "bad example" to the younger children. It showed them that once you're a bit older, if you develop a useful skill and work hard, you'll be able to afford to buy your own nice things, which you can choose to share with others, or not, because they will be yours. I think that's actually a good example to set. However, it makes more sense if the father wants his family to be dependent on him, with money something he can threaten to withhold if he doesn't like their behaviour.

Also, I laughed out loud during the part when the dad spoke about "consenting" to fatherhood, when he himself is strong-arming his family to bend to his will. Maybe that is why OP's mum (bless her soul) left this man-child after 5 months. And better late than never for OP's step-mum to finally see this man-child's true character. She is honestly having herself and her children from this toxic relationship. TL;DR OP's bio-dad finally can have his wish of being "the man of the house" in his sandcastle. Go and pound sand.

sounds like OP's friend in the last story is possibly doing dr*gs with the toxic dude, judging by her erratic, reckless, inconsiderate + projecting/ text attack behavior. not to mention she's been living with OP for free for so long + doesn't even contribute to groceries, I wonder if she's working or not? Makes me wonder why she was homeless at the start of the pandemic, although that part could be totally unrelated + a stroke of bad luck (please note I'm not being a judgmental b here, I'm an addict in recovery who has survived homelessness, so I have decent insight into the topic + am just putting some possibilities out there).

You don't have to be on drugs to continuously find yourself in toxic relationships. The two do intersect at times, but it's not a pre-requisite. All it takes for this behaviour pattern to occur is a lack of understanding on healthy relationships due to bad examples growing up and low self-esteem, and it prime's you for disfunction and wanting to fix people. As far as her housing status, I know plenty of people who, prior to the pandemic, were homeless, despite having full time work. There are entire parking lots in S California that are occupied by software engineers who live in their cars because the US housing market is so absolutely aweful. So, no, I don't necessarily think that there's anything deeper going on here than a person who's neck deep in a toxic relationship, and she just doesn't see it. Congratulations on your sobriety, BTW. My husband has 16 years under his belt, and it's tough.

I'm in SoCal + fully understand the homeless/ awful housing situation, it's plain terrible. it just seemed odd to me that OP's been supporting/ feeding her friend since the start of the pandemic, but this could also have other perfectly understandable explanations too. thank you so much, just hit 8 years on nye! major congrats to your husband too, 16 years is incredible!

Dad apparently had mom and dad's money bailing him out all his life. Inferiority complex on that one.

Especially when you consider all of the potential bad things OP could be getting into at that age but doesn't. Drugs? Nope. Drinking? Nope. Stealing? Nope. Vandalism? Nope. Instead he works, he gets along with his half brothers, he stays out of the way/keeps to himself.

"I guess consent only works one way😤." The venn-diagram of men who've guilted, begged, lied, tricked, threatened, or otherwise forced women into unprotected seggs, and men who don't want children, isn't a complete circle, but it definitely has more than enough overlap to justify child-support laws.

Just like... the audacity of wanting to regularly engage in risky behavior and thinking ONLY the other person should be at risk of dealing with the well-known consequences if something goes wrong. 🤦♀️

Story one: sh*tty father only wants to change now he sees the consequences. I remember the original post and couldn't believe someone could be so ignorant...then hearing this he actually got worse?! Ooof

He still got even worse. Now he has a DV restraining order against him.

It's still not over, apparently. He's managed to land a restraining order, and has been cut off financially by his parents. Still thinks he can coherce the wife around at the next court date with expensive jewelry.

“Rebellious phase” you mean he is a teen
@emanx2222 жыл бұрын
Being a teen is almost synonymous with being rebellious though 🤣 so in some way he isn't exactly wrong (I'm talking in a literal sense devoid of Context here just to be clear 🤣)

Jonah's dad is mad because his past came back to haunt him! Kid is living proof that dad's morals are loose! You threatened your first born, tried to extort the game and obviously said stuff about rent wether you intended to or not. Why do you hate your first kid? Why threaten and blackmail him! Dad YATAH! Love the dad made his own account to cover his own butt! Stepmoms a keeper , at least she was fair.

S2 - op did the right thing. I’ve been in situations very much like this and I’ve learned to trust my instincts. She trusted hers and good for her. It helped her keep her and her family safe.

I drew in my step kids by.... could u, would, or I'm going to do X wanna come? If the answer was NO sometimes I'd ask why and they would elaborate and I'd be like... ah, okay. For 1st few years they'd call me by given name Kelly, then later on alternate between Kelly and DAD :) 😀
