Yeah its probably because your shoulders were way more conditioned to pressing then your abs were to stabilizing but it evens out pretty fast if you're consistent

After few years of training like a normal bodybuilder i switch to athletic bodybuilding and my abs finally shown thanks to you. I started doing deadlifts, carry and other compound exercises that work the core.

I've been recently prioritising heavy compound lifts after i watched a short on mario explaining why eddie hall has abs at a high bfp. After a month or so, I've seen my upper 2 abs get stronger and visible and now I can see another two more soap like bar abs appearing in my mid section. All because of me just lifitng heavy squats, deadlifts, and overhead press

It is probably the reason i get bigger abs even without consistency. I train abs as my first priority when i started. But after i get 6packs, i stopped training. I started with Calisthenics cuz I can't really go to gym (Im a student). So, only thing i do is Push up with many variations, squat and lunges and do some curls while standing. But after a year ,my abs grew a lot in size although i rarely train them. I didn't know the reason untill i see one of Rios old short video. And from that time,i only train abs for like once or twice a month.

Back and biceps- 3x10 bicep curls 3x10 Hammer curls 3x10 bent over rows Chest, triceps, and shoulders- (You need a bench for most) 3x10 dumbbell bench 3x10 incline dumbbell bench 3x10 skull crushers 3x10 powerbombs 3x10 lat raise 3x10 shoulder press 2x15 shrugs Legs- 4x10 goblet squats 4x10 rdl’s 3x10 Bulgarian split squat Hope this helps

Good question. You want to tighten your core but still you want to be able to breathe nicely to do your workout. Not fully tighten is the way to go I think.

I’d say 2 things. 1. Try easier variations to build tolerance. Maybe do regular sit ups instead of decline sit ups until you get stronger overtime. 2. Don’t miss out on back extension work. You should do some back extension exercises to complement your ab workout. Think about doing rows & facepulls to balance your bench press volume
