As a child I thought dressing less like girls are supposed to dress would make me belong with guys a little more and I’d get a little more respect in the world. I love how Mary is the only one in this table who is not white and from an obviously privileged, wealthy background. I can tell it made her nervous, especially since as a musician she's just starting to (really) break into acting. But even so she wore a blonde wig/weave to fit in which really shows how powerful white supremacy is. They hardly ever have any black actors on this show and when they do she has blonde hair of course. But you can tell she has massive amounts of life experience that these other more privileged women don't have. At least they seem to respect that.
