The key point is POUND 4 POUND which basically means that the boxer can win and dominate in multiple weight classes. You have to listen the context of what Max is saying. Pacquiao is definitely at the top in terms of "pound 4 pound" technically. You can even put Mayweather, Roy Jones Jr. and Oscar Delahoya up there because they were dominant in multiple weight classes, but I'd give Pacquiao the edge though because as Max stated, he started at flyweight, won championships in more weight classes than the others. I could be wrong, but for me, Pound4Pound is different from the G.O.A.T conversation, but both terms compliment each other. You can say the greatest boxers are dominant in different weight classes while saying, in the same token, that the greatest boxers usually defeat other great, dominant fighters🤷🏿‍♂️

It's hyphotetical that based on their skill set, if somehow Pacquiao was a heavyweight, could he have defeated Mike Tyson. So it tries to negate the advantage of heavier weight divisions. If it is about fighting in different divisions, then back in the 90s holyfield should have been ranked higher in the p4p rankings back when Whitaker was 1 and Jones was 2nd. Bo was I think ranked the same or higher than Tyson, with Holyfield not in the top10. Ofcourse Holyfied was a Cruserweight was it before becoming Heavyweight champion, so he is a two division word champion. It was I think the Ring Magazines Ranking. No, you guys just don't understand the question. The key phrase being "POUND FOR POUND" in this argument. The question isn't better boxer in general, the question is better "pound for pound" boxer. There's a fundamental distinction between those 2 arguments; people always seem to miss that. "Who's better pound for pound" =/= "Who can beat who in a match". Floyd may be the better boxer in general, but Manny has accomplished more in several more weight classes than Floyd (going from Flyweight alllll the way to Junior Middleweight). _That_ is why he's the greater _pound for pound_ fighter.
