I'm in the process of training my Yorkie. I'm using a lot of your training videos. I must admit I have spoiled him so much. When I walk him, he wants me to carry him. I'm going to go through your list of videos and watch again in the order that needed most.

Great information! We had a lot of unexpected things happen when we got our puppy,(surgery etc..) and the training fell by the wayside. Now we have a ten month old sweet but wild puppy with no manners. We have gone back to basics using a house line that we step on to limit his choices and we are working on attention. Your tips are very helpful.

sit being "too easy" lol. When I got my rescue dog he was an 8 month old uncoordinated awkward anxious giant husky with girraffe legs, and he physically found it so hard to sit because he would roll his hips all floppy and he had no idea how to hold himself up lol. It literally took me like 6 months to teach him a real sit where he wasn't falling over the whole time, and a full year and a half before he could do it with any duration! Everyone he met asked him to sit and he would try so hard, fidgeting and rolling with his giant long puppy legs flying around lol. Poor dude was the awkwardest teenager lol. Now I ask him to sit and he's so solid he literally doesn't even want to get up when I release him, I have to wave my arms lol.

I have a new 8 week old Kishu puppy, and the biggest issue I'm having with her is that she loves her crate too much. When she's inside the house, she wants to be in her crate. Unfortunately, cage rattling doesn't correct her when she's making noise either. So I feel like I'm failing already. She's a hunting dog, so she has a bit more innate stubbornness, bravery, and a drive for independance than most dogs.

Honestly, the tricky part for me is just dealing with 2 dogs at once for that: they both look to me consistently, but it's REALLY difficult to get things done, since one will complain _loudly_ if i go off to do something with the other dog

if you haven't, maybe try offering the dog that's not doing something with you a frozen kong or woof toy or something long lasting but safe for solo use. that way when you go off it means they still have some fun alone!

We will have a puppy in a couple of wks. We already have a 2 1/2 yr old Golden. I guess we will have to put the older in her kennel if she doesn't listen. I hope it's a good training for everyone at the same time lol

Any suggestion on training new 6mo old around other dogs. I have 3 dogs, 4,5 and 11. My daughter asked me to take her 6mo boxer, its just to much for their family and just having a baby. Should I train away from the other dogs, let them be around? It's been forever..lol

some dogs aren't food motivated or you aren't using something high value enough! try toys if they like toys or heavy praise/petting as a reward :]
