Awesome job Andy and Piers, this is one of your BEST instructional videos IMO. This is one of the most important aspects of the golf swing most golfers neglect/clueless about.

I am currently practicing this start of the back swing because I took it away to inside. Such a small thing but I just hit a gross 81 in a round through practicing and concentrating on this take away. I'm a 16 handicap. Something so simple that is so rewarding when it works. Great video. 👍🏻👍🏻

Love this video! One tip I was given to shallow that downswing is to think of baseball (I know you guys are English) and for a righty, hit line drives between first and second. For a Lefty hit line drives at the shortstop. It’s worked well for me and others trying to turn fades/slices to draws/hooks.

After seeing video of my swing I required a drink, or 2. But...that visual is so important because "the feel is not always real". Heard that somewhere by Pierce and Andy. Focusing on the club face has made the biggest difference to my swing. I focus on a strong face during the backswing and squaring the face at impact by having my left wrist flat or slightly bowed inwards at impact. I picture hitting the ball with the back of my left hand. If my grip is correct and my lead wrist is flat, I'm going to hit the ball square.

the culprit is the wrist always want to roll inside during the takeaway and backswing hence causing the over the top downswing...try to freeze the wrist as it is with no rolling and concentrate on the rotation of body during the takeaway...i assured you when the takeaway and backswing are correct...the downswing will be automatically fixed..

Nice video guys! However its clear that he is not using his lower body at all, needs to rotate hips around axis in backswing while bending left knee and straightening right leg (don't need to lock right leg). Start downswing with hips turning around not toward target(arms will follow) all while pushing down into the ground with your feet to make use of newtons 3'rd law and create ground force reaction.

Every one of them on the first swing have hit a draw. It is amazing, everyone. They have to be reminded every time for some reason. J??? Issue is he is pushing up to attack the ball way too early. He isn't going to get on plane unless he digs down, Also he casts to reach the ball. He needs to do half swings where he keeps his hands infront of the club head to fix the over the top. His impact position is really bad. Not gonna fix the over the top until he fixes impact position.

I don't understand wanting more distance with an iron or wedge, instead of grabbing an 8 iron take a 7. No? Driver sure am I wrong

I think they key thing is being able to maximise the speed you have with the impact. It is easier hitting an 8 iron that a 6 iron.
@timothychoquette4563 жыл бұрын
Yeah, why would someone want to hit a 9iron from 150 out and get all that extra loft, descent angle and spin to land softly on greens , when they could hit a 6 iron with lower launch, less spin and more roll out?

His golf fundamental is completely disaster... Both of his arms are disconnected with his body, simply just swing the arms.. during the back swing, shoulder didn't rotate, cocking his wrist very early causing the club behind his body, so the down swing go over top from outside to inside... just arms swing .. NO shoulder and torso rotation... Keep both arms intact with body.. Rotate shoulder and hip at back swing.. start from there..
