The old adage used by folks who weren't very grounded in their values, is "if it flies, floats, or f*^ks, rent it". Again, I don't agree with all of that because I am very happily married many, many years. But this car flies (even though the adage is about aircraft). There are three good ways to buy it: lease it new, or buy it after that first 3 year lease (if you really love newness but want to save money), or buy it at about 5 years old, 50 percent depreciated: all of the bugs will have been worked out by the first owner(s); the car is so technologically advanced that at 5 years old most other cars still won't have caught up with it; and if it was well cared for by the first owner, it will still be a very, very nice car. That's how I bought my AMG S class: 14,000 miles directly from the housewife who babied it. Fantastic, pristine condition. Not a single scrape on the interior or exterior. This does happen. And I paid less than half of the $221,000 list price. PS: It was fun watching Ben, who is a very nice guy, review something that was out of his normal "wheelhouse".

This car is pretty cool, but I would swap out the tires for some bigger in the front and the back. like 275s in the front and 305s in the back. or a 295. then if they have an option, have some 22 AMG rims within those tires. and now that have a lighter blue paint job and all white interior. that way the tires can stick to the ground more grip. and it can ride more meaner. The car is already mean enough as is, but hey never hurts to improve it on it a little bit if Mercedes-Benz lets you when you buy it.

I enjoy your quick videos. Able to get a good idea of the car. Wish you would push the performance vehicles a bit more though, as that is a majority factor in why someone would be buying a $200K high-horsepower vehicle. I understand you may not want to upset the dealership lending you the car, but I'm sure they wouldn't mind some throttle action if it means a better review - similar to what Raiti's Rides does. Keep it up.

Beautiful piece of engineering. Its true, just lease. Even with the best engineering, with so much proprietary and innovative systems, its just natural that its insanely complex and expensive to maintenance

having a 4 year old GLC63 (same engine w/o the hybrid setup), have to say this vehicle sounds terrible. kinda reminds me of an electric-powered lawn mower engine, being over-revved. If I'm buying a V8, I want it to sound like a real V8!

What a clueless review, as usual. This has nothing to do with a Tesla. Of course people buy the S63, an AMG version of the S-Class has been around forever. It's not mean to be "popular", it's for the select few that want more than a S500 or S580. I'm seeing them regularly now, at least in this area.
