Andy tried to jump into the crowd for a minute but the girls completely obliterated his shirt & were literally clawing at his skin. I literally had to grab him & help him back onstage (he's TINY). He was really nice about it later too. They're all super nice humble dudes. Back then they were still a small band too, so it was cool seeing a band like that in a tiny venue before they really hit BIG. I dont like BVB music per say, but they are nice dudes. & the guitarists are no joke. A7x levels of shred.

Metalcore is one of those genres that has keeps evolving with the times. They say trends run in 20 year cycles. I truly believe the genre will never really just die. The appeal of metalcore is how versatile of a genre it is, it can reach into alot of different audiences, it's an aggressive style of music combined with catchy melodic choruses and passages. I see people who aren't particularly huge fans of metal with atleast a couple metalcore songs in their gym playlists. Its interesting to see metalcore acts flirting with mainstream. It's overall good for us and the genre.

I think it’s more accurate to say that there are a lot of sub genres within metalcore, which makes it more likely to acquire a wider audience. Some weighing on the melodic side, some on the more hardcore side, some being more metallic. Metalcore is honestly too wide at times, imo, as some of the bands sound NOTHING alike lol
@DragonKnightX12
@DragonKnightX12 2 жыл бұрын
@@metalboy6094 You say that, but it's gone for a lot of changes. It started as Hardcore bands with some Metal elements like Converge, Earth Crisis, and Hatebreed. Then we had late 90's early 2000's bands mixing Hardcore and Melodic Death. Like Killswitch, As I Lay Dying, All that Remians...etc We also had bands mixing in post-hardcore like Silverstein, Underoath, and Dance Gavin Dance. Then Easycore like A Day To Remember and Chunk! No,Captain Chunk! About 2007ish Attack! Attack! came alonng and changed it again with Crabcore. About 2010 Djent/Progressive Metalcore started blowing up. Around 2015 the Nu-Metalcore and Buttrockcore started and has taken over scene now.

Another sign of metalcore’s return is when it can cross over. The Japanese anime “Attack on Titan’s” most recent season had a metalcore song for the opening. That song, by a band called SIM, “The Rumbling” made it to the top 10 on the US rock charts and it’s gotten tens of millions of views on multiple videos/versions (the first one posted had 45m views and other variations of the video [full length, music vid] are ~10m each)

@@PrettyDeadNightmare for sure. But no other anime opening has ever topped the rock chart or gotten over 50m views. That’s just insane. Honestly something I never thought Id see. He was talking about Falling in Reverse succeeding with 10m views on their most recent vid and SIM got multiple times that I’m 36. Got into anime during its first major push in the late 90s. Used to be so niche back then. Now you see anime stuff in Walmart and Dollar Stores, the front page of Netflix, and cons get 50k plus attending (even in Nov 2021, during the co-19 delta/omicron fear). Bands like Spiritbox and Ice Nine Kills push the envelope of what we come to expect with Metalcore - in the same fashion as Gojira with death metal, or maybe more appropriately in death metal Fit For An Autopsy's "What The Future Holds". Spiritbox's Eternal Blue has a range that is both rare and welcomed. Hearing Holy Roller, and then the very next song I heard from them being Constance, I was immediately hooked. But it was Ice Nine that really surprised me. They get a lot of heat in the metal community, similar to BMTH but in an underserved way, in my humble opinion. The Sliver Scream 2 is like a rock-opera. Being both a metal and horror fan, they managed to blend those elements and NOT have cheesy songs. In fact the opposite, SS2 is amazingly catchy. I'm very excited to see what both these bands do with their next records and hope I get to see them live in the near future :)

13:09 I found Bad Omens right after they released their first album, and they were my favorite band for a while, but each album they release is getting farther from my taste in music. I'm not gunna say they should go back to what they were before, but I wish I could find more bands like what they used to be. I saw them live at rockfest last year, and this year the only great band there will be spiritbox.

I hope they don't go full BMTH because Noah is a better vocalist than Oliver. His screams and cleans are well executed. Bad Omens recent stuff delivers. They know how to make good heavy and soft music.

It never left! My favorite metal genre next to alternative. Currently work on my scream as of typing this. opinion about my first MxC album: it's ok to be wrong, but it's better to acknowledge The Black was Asking's best album

Bad omens puts on the BEST live show I’ve ever seen. They sound exactly like the record and that was at the end of the tour. They’re incredible.

I would love to see Metalcore find a way to keep its integrity and connect with kids again. I think we need more catchy break down hooks that can be utilized in tiktok videos or something with extreme dynamics for it to really hit home with kids.

The fans need to be kinder to this new generation than they were to scene kids as well. If they’re unable to do both, then it will be tough for the genre to truly make a comeback.

I think a thing that's missing at the moment is the positivity that used to to be in hardcore and metalcore is being overtaken by nihilism. In the early 2010's the positive messages from bands like In Hearts Wake and The Ghost Inside are what attracted myself and heaps of other kids to the genre.

I use to have a a bit of a though town identifying myself as a metalhead since that's the genre I mostly go back to yet, when talking to more elitist or older metalheads, I realize that major difference. This video (and over time) help me realize I definitely lean more towards metal core.

I really feel like there's a stigma in the metal community that will sadly keep the genres feet on the ground. *A lot of metal fans want to gatekeep the genre and keep it "underground"* At LTL in 2021 I went into it with a big head not wanting to accept the lesser metal bands. I eventually got drunk and noticed everyone around me was having a good time. Listened to so many bands that I knew music to and just had a great time and dropped the stigma (myself). The BMTH/Ed Sheeran collab is absolutely awesome. It's not that it's selling out, more like selling up to get a bigger audience.

The sellout + underground thing in metal community has been around forever. Metallica is the prime example of being called "sell out" back in the day & now they're the most successful metal band.

@@gx1tar1er yeah, I don't expect it to go away. I personally love seeing bands flourish. Sometimes I don't like the new music but it's cool to get more fans and popularity in the community. Like it really changes people's lives when they start getting drawn in

@@MySkilletfan Idk a lot of people in the world, probably even most of them, listen to pop music and they don't think it's goofy. Eskimo Callboy though... Definitely goofy lol. Not knocking it, but I gotta agree with Finn on this one.

I love bad omen!!! I've noticed them gaining traction lately. Also, a lot of new music I listen to is because of this channel. But I'm not finding a lot of new rock bands because of Finn it's actually pop and hip hop.

Maybe you can enjoy Memphis May Fire, they are part of metalcore's revival since last year with Blood And Water, but their last single Make Believe has a lot Rock Vibes than you can enjoy, it's an amazing song, and a fire band 🔥
