I know exactly how he feels. I've accidentally hit some of my friends before just bc reaction and reflex muscle memory is what my grandmaster drills into us. I remember one time my friend isaac tried to mess with me in the school hallway by trying to snatch my backpack strap off my shoulder, but to me it felt like someone was about to pull me off balance and hit me, so I dropped into a stance and reinforced elbowed him in the stomach.. i felt so bad, and got in trouble for it like wtf. If he hadn't told them straight up that we weren't fighting and it was kinda his fault in the first place, I would've gotten suspended for it. Well him too actually, haha, teachers thought it was serious when it was just us kids being kids.

People really don't understand the reflex thing. When you spend your whole life training for one thing. When you are a living weapon. When you live according to the Bushido... You can't just turn it off! It is who you are. It is what you are. You see the whole world different all the time, everywhere you go. Your mind and body act independent of one another and yet are in perfect harmony... We do not expect you to understand, just understand be careful to not be in the way. That's why you were told.

Definitely should have tried his hand in mma, his skills combined with his athleticism is rare. Should have been a way bigger action star, surprises me Steven Seagal got as big as he did with basic martial arts technique and subpar acting but MJW with master level techniques and great acting range never had an era he owned in Hollywood.

He didn't have big enough movies. If he had a Bloodsport, Kickboxer or Rumble in the Bronx he would have been larger than life. Spawn wasn't big enough. It sucks because he's bad.

The problem with Spawn was that it was too dark, assassin being burned alive, sent to heII, serving the deviI and back for revenge only if he decides to lead an army of demons. All through the movie too he has to wear this burned appearance which can disgust some viewers and we seen what wonders a burned appearance has done for the actor on Nightmare on Elmstreet. Also when it comes to hero movies people want more action than dialogue and it took Spawn too long to learn how to control his powers. Had MJW played a more typical cape wearing positive hero it may shifted his career in a better direction.

This was the most hilarious and yet true thing that I've heard from a martial artist in a long time. I kicked my oldest son while I was sleeping one night in my room after he walked in with the light off before I could even open my eyes and realize it was him. I've had a few close calls in the street, but no one got knocked out. The bottom line is that it's not a good idea to run up behind people or too close to them in public or to enter a dark room when someone (trained in martial arts or from the military) is sleeping without knocking and waiting for a response.
