My mom said if I had gotten pregnant when I was a teen, she would have “made” me get an abortion. Maybe she said that out of fear, regardless if it were hypothetical, but I don’t think I could ever tell my daughter to abort my grand baby. She’s too young to worry about that right now, but a baby is never a burden. They’re not easy, and they’re a challenge but never a negative. I had my kids at 24 and 36; they’re still a challenge, and nobody is perfectly ready for a baby, as they’re life-changing, but they are just another person on your team.

If you believe in a creator and think these are humans with souls then you better complain to him for such horrible and evil design that kills more potential babys every year than we humans ever could. And this is without the pregnant women doing anything wrong (other than being human and cursed by that creator, if you believe in that kind of religious dogma). She also explained the strong emotional bond that pregnant women form, which is why no mentally healthy woman strives to abort their pregnancy. I can not believe a medical student would deliberately and intentionally lie about the size of a 9 week old baby to support her side. I miscarried at 8.5 weeks, and while my baby was small, they were far from microscopic, and she knows this and has the gall to say WE’RE spreading false information and propaganda. How dare her use her education (and the credibility that it gives her by default) to spread lies instead of truth.
@SummerMayDay10 ай бұрын
Exactly. They are about 1 inch long. If she says we can see her toes with the naked eye (which are about an inch long too), we can obviously see the foetus at that age. No microscope needed. It’s a shame he didn’t know the size of a foetus at that age and could have proved how ludicrous her claim was.
@winstonfc10 ай бұрын
The average fetus is 1 inch long (22mm) at 9 weeks. The range of size is roughly 1 +/- 0.5 (11mm) inches, but lets go with the average of 1 inch. A 6'1" man might have a 'big toe' that is approximately 2 inches long (44mm). Let's assume similar bodily proportions between fetus and man (this is wrong, but works for a ballpark estimate). The ratio of that toe to that body is 2:73, or 1:36.5. That means you would need 36.5 of those big toes to span that entire body. Applying that ratio to the fetus, you would simply divide 1 inch (or 22mm) by 36.5 which is 0.027 inches (or 0.6mm). That is very close to the smallest width a human eye can see unaided -- but that does not mean you can make out the details. Just as you can't really make out the fine details of a hair, unaided. Yes, you can probably make out the major details, but her point remains true, the finer details are only observable using magnification.
@SummerMayDay10 ай бұрын
@@winstonfc Your logic and maths are both faulty. The foetus’s width won’t be 1/36th of an inch. An average woman is 64 inches tall. The average 9 week foetus is 1 inch tall. Therefore it is 1/64th of a woman’s height. The average woman’s hip width is 34 inches. Using the ration of 1/64th, the foetus will measure just over half an inch wide. More than visible.
@winstonfc10 ай бұрын
@@SummerMayDay I started my comment by saying the fetus is 1 inch long. The math is to determine the length of the toe. The width would in fact be even smaller. Even though I use a toe to do the calculations, it was my bad for not explicitly saying the final result was the length of the largest fetal toe.
@SummerMayDay10 ай бұрын
@@winstonfc I see what you mean now. Yes, the individual toes would be too small to make out without a microscope. But the foetus would be visible and tangible. And his head, torso and limbs would be distinguishable to the naked eye. The student in the video is either disingenuous or misinformed.

The term “fetus” is Latin, and directly translates to “child” in English…. She’s literally speaking another language to confuse or manipulate. Using language the patient won’t understand. Which is why he and others ask…. Why are medical abortionists so hard to press the very sterile term when it’s the same thing anyway? A fetus is a child… so why is she so upset about it? It’s too direct and clear on intent.

@@vikkidonnPenis is also Latin for tail. Does that mean that human males actually have tails?
@vikkidonn4 ай бұрын
@@justapotato2434 false comparison. The point is that fetus and child mean the same thing. So to use either makes no technical difference. The difference is in the perception and ignorance of the audience spoken to. Which makes using the Latin term without clear explanation of its meaning highly irresponsible. The implication of your statement is that the pre born ARENT children. Which would be a false statement so not sure why you’d even suggest it. And as an aside there are other terms used to describe a penis. Like phallus. However the English definition of “penis” Is specific as the male erectile organ. The difference here is it’s usage in the English language which has a history of true assimilation. As in the word has a full context in English past it’s Latin definition. Fetus does not. Fetus hasn’t undergone a similar assimilation and has a direct English translation. Which is child. Penis has been fully assimilated and given an altered definition specific to its usage in English. So again is not a true comparison

@vikkidonn4 ай бұрын
@@justapotato2434 nope. You could as a joke however the term child encompasses the entire time from conception until maturity. It’s a term with several specific contextual meanings. If you want to use a term that is “specific” then I believe there are specific terms that denote the actual stage of development. Like embryo, zygote, ect. The reason these terms aren’t typically used in the general discourse of abortion is because of the lack of knowledge on the subject by the general public. This is also why many people and I have explained the usage of child over fetus. The terminology of using fetus of child is meaningless as the are the same definition in the context of conversation. The difference is the understanding of those being spoken to. In other words I could use the term fetus and even the more specific developmental terms while speaking to you and my arguments wouldn’t change. The truth wouldn’t change. What would change is the ability of comprehension by outside viewers. It becomes a question of transparency. I have nothing to hide and want to be fully understood. I was to speaking to some mother of 1 child and she was saying that she doesn't want to have more children because she wants her daughter to go to private school not just common school. While she definitely can afford two children but they will go to ordinary school. So most of the people wants that their children were possessing iphones, brand sneakers, fancy clothes and so on. While the reality if you want to raise a children "at all costs" it doesn't take a big amount of money in case if the child is without big health issues. Most of the countries have gov programs that effectively help to raise children. When my friend was in situation when his girlfriend was pregnant I advised to keep him at all costs. Because strategically I think its a big win but on a tactical level its a disaster. Nowadays I see him happy with his son. I'm not saying that I made a decision for them and saved live of that kid its complete their merit. But I hope I've made even a small push towards right decision.

I wanted to call the cops and was advised not to. I told the nurses and practitioners at the abortion clinic. They just encouraged me to go through with it and ignored what I was telling them. I contacted several law firms to pursue justice and all said “sorry, we can’t help you.” The father of my child made me take drugs to get me to “consent” to abortion. Too many Women are not thinking about the consequences and giving shitty Males what they want and the shitty Male doesn't care about this issue because he believes he won't have to take responsibility for conceiving a child so Women need to stop giving sex to undeserving Men who haven't earned it or are undeserving of it. I understand sometimes shitty Males can be incredibly deceitful and pretend to care and love you to get what they want so it's not just the Woman's fault but Men are the ones who are desperate for sexual activity and Women need to use their mind and logic and not just their emotions when determining which Males are deserving of sex and intimacy.

That whole part of the discussion was her being blatantly disingenuous. When she states "I think you understand this because you CHOOSE to use baby", she's basically telling him, "look, you know the quiet part just like I do, must we really say it out loud for the audience?" She's telling him you're humanizing it to preserve its life, we're dehumanizing it so we can kill it for convenience, money, etc.

@@catpyjamas I know right? “Hey listen, it’s a lot easier to get mothers to kill their babies if we stop considering the babies human beings.” Disgusting.

Basically she says the desire of the mother determines the value of the life of the unborn child. As a woman who has given birth to two living children and also suffered the trauma of the miscarriage of a desired child, it seems that the life of my unborn child is only valuable to society if I, the child's biological mother desire the child's life. The child's father has no say simply because he doesn't have to physically carry that child for nine months. But that same father is not allowed to abandon that child. He must pay child support until that child is 18 or self supporting.

If they are not trained in ethics, and critical thinking skills nor possess the human capacity to value life it is just “business.” At that they no longer receive my respect, my ear, nor my “business!”
