I wish all I had was numbness. It would help with the constant on, off, on, off stabbing nerve pains in my feet & toes. Now I get an occasional pain in my thigh. I've rubbed, stabbed, burned & scratched the skin off. I take pain killers, ibuprofen, aspirin and sometimes get drunk to get some sleep as the pain won't let me. 5 to 10 seconds of stabbing pain followed by 10 seconds of relief for days then i'm ok for a day or two then it goes again. Any help? Is it bc i'm 60/m/life long smoker although fairly fit?

Knowledge is power and armed with knowledge from folks who know what they are talking about I've gotten immediate help. Numbness in one little toe that's been there for a few weeks, start rolling my arches as per the video, exercises and I can feel it working. Almost back to normal and with keeping up the exercises and knowing how these things are caused I feel better physically and mentally. Mentally because not having a clue wears on a person. Having a place to start is immensely helpful. And if it was worse I would know that it would be time to seek a doctor. All good.

I watched and found a few new stretches to try. Seven years ago I was diagnosed with degenerative disk disease after extreme pain for three weeks. I'm guessing that's when the disk finally collapsed. I've tried a number of things and most of the pain is gone and I can now walk without a limp after a decade of issues. The only "problem" now is numbness on the right front shin for the past seven years. It doesn't really hurt any more and most of the time I just don't even notice it. I gave up on going to medical professionals. Different diagnosis every time. This is the first time I saw your specific stretches. So I'm willing to give it a try. Thanks!

I am 78. Was a long distance runner I noticed at least 20 yrs ago a feeling of sand in my running shoes. I now have a feeling of pins and needles and numbness in my feet starting to move up my calves. It is not painful, does not keep me awake but affects my balance. I had plantar fasciatis so had to wear arch supports. I have been diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy but there is no pain. I have very high arches and my feet are very flexible as is the rest of my body even at 78, I strengthen my legs, but dont enjoy walking due to balance issues, affected my a mild stroke when I dislocated my hip replacement for the 2nd time in a month. The blood flow is fine. I dont have a heart problem. I have also had a hip replacement. I am finding problems with balance now.

I understand exactly how you feel. I have suffered with this complaint for a number of years. It's not painful but EXTREMELY uncomfortable... there is no respite from it . Nothing seems to work and I excercise my legs every day. I feel as if I'm walking on sand, and very wobbly.

I get numbness under my right foot in my arch over a period of time when I ride motorcycle, as I continue to ride the numbness get worse to the point it hurts and I can not feel my right foot any more. When I manage to limb home this numbness results in a complete lack of feeling in the arch for weeks. This really puts a damper on riding not to mention being dangerous as the right foot is required to operator a brake. No amount of repositioning m leg helps with preventing the numbness it will come. Have even tried other motorcycles, changing riding position, changing seat and peg distances. Still happens.

About 4 days ago I noticed my right pinky toe was numb. That same night I had some severe sciatic pain in that same leg and lower back. I took some medicine and felt better but I’m pretty tender and know I have to see my chiropractor again. Could that pinky toe being numb be a an effect from that sciatic nerve acting up? I have what has been diagnosed as peripheral neuropathy but have never had X-rays or mri or anything other than a nerve test with a machine which showed it was mild I follow doing stretching but spend much of my time in pain despite having orthotics

Both of my big toes went moderately numb during basic training and AIT, it’s persisted for about 8 months now. It has healed well, almost back to pre-army days, it wasn’t serious, I was told the feeling would come back, it just takes time for feeling to come back. My confusion could be what was the cause? My poorly fitted boots and sneakers were most likely the cause, but I had some suspicions it had to do with my lower back or a root nerve.

My feet began going numb in 2019. I’m type 2 diabetic and it’s actually feels better depending on what I eat or drink. It never goes away and they feel worse when I’m in bed. What can I do other than diet change and my type 2 meds to relieve it.

I was in a car accident where the car hit on my side my door I hit my head on the window and then it threw my body across the back seat when I got out my head was hurting with a bad headache and from that time so I took some therapy both of my feet on the 4th and 5th to are numb they have feeling but they're numb and have been down through the years. They took a picture of my head and noticed that it had been injured slightly so I'm thinking that caused my fourth and 5th toes problem. But a long time ago I had sprained my left ankle and when I went to the chiropractor he said we need to work on your feet first all the bones are not in place after he placed them all back like they should be my it was such a change in my left foot so I'm wondering if and I have had sprained since that time that my feet bones need to be put back in the place and maybe then I will have feeling in my fourth and fifth toes but you're very good in analyzing all situations possibilities. I have spurts where I can’t stand how my feet feel massaging does help I’ve been doing my legs more and then I have days that I have no trouble at all I don’t understand. I’m going to go back to my neurologist maybe it’s something in my spine I was doing the vitamin therapy for treatment of peripheral neuropathy. That’s what I was diagnosed with. Problem is I've gone and got an MRI done and it came up with nothing wrong with my foot when I went back too my doctor and all he said too me is it's mental and it's all in my head :/ Doesn't make sense when I know my left foot doesn't feel right compared too my right foot... I've had really bad pain in my left foot for over 3 months, been seeing a podiatrist and neurologist, haven't found anything. It's getting really frustrating, just had my 3rd MRI this month, had x-rays, they show nothing. The outside of my left foot hurts quite a bit, my little toes hurt when I walk... basically my foot feels like it's being crushed with every step. I'm going to try out these stretches, I'm willing to do anything at this point. The doc doesn't think it's plantar fasciitis, since my heel didn't show pain. Any thoughts are appreciated.

I have suffered waist pain for nearly forty years and now I'm experiencing numbness in my feet. I feel perfectly normal until either I walk the distance of about 2 blocks or especially when standing in lines for more than a couple of minutes, numbness starts at butt bone then creeps down the back of my legs. Though it's never happened it feels like I'm about fall down. After a lengthy wait at the post office I had to take baby steps away from the counter. My legs just wouldn't go. After sitting for a couple of minutes, I'm good as new, can walk, jog, jump it's crazy. I thought perhaps that my already flat butt was getting older and experiencing muscular atrophy. So I hobbled into the gym and began focusing on deep squats and other leg exercises and stretches. I don't hobble as a result. But even though this helped, has made me feel so much better over all I still have these issues

Hormonal changes can definitely be associated with osteoporosis and other changes. Is this the main reason? It is probably hard to say and it is usually a variety of combined factors. Always get evaluated if worried!

Hi I have this numbness pain turning red my big toes on each feet hurt I have a hamstring injury on both legs and calcium build up on the left sit bone and now my legs are starting to shake and I can't walk well

What about being an IV drug user of heroin? It causes swelling due to bad circulation I'm guessing. That could cause numbness then correct? (Please no hateful comments)

It can definitely impair some venous blood flow, but in general this would probably not be the true cause. I would bet a combination of alcohol, biomechanics would still be the major cause. We have many patients on long term opoid therapy for pain management, I would not expect this by itself to be a cause of neuropathy.

I am now 20 years old.i had a prblm called avm(spine), so i did embolization as doc suggested but after that i cant even wear normal shoes bcz foot, ankles, toes are numb and i cant hold grip so i have to wear kedz always.Doctors suggesting me that there is nothing they can rather than exercise. when the doctor injected me i think he hit a nerve cause it jolted my whole foot and automatically retracted ...but its been 9 days and now my pinkie toe is becoming numb and when i put pressure on the side where i got the injection i can feel a jolt go across my foot...should i be worried ?

Thanks I most likely have to eventually apply for disability was diagnosed with it in 2018 when having mri done on my neck and back from work related injuries. 4 years later the spinal stenosis got worse

Stretch it out when u have relaxation time. Stomp few times with shoes off and usually helps bring back circulation!
