I have been a gamer since 1980 and have owned almost every console made from then to now. If they are making games for the PS5, why would they not support the Pro? MS clearly wants and needs to be multi-platform, and I say they should put the games on all platforms as it would end the toxic fanboy mentality. Rip the bandaid off, MS, and just do it. There's a market for an Xbox that also runs windows for people who don't want to worry about upgrading for 4/5 years while having a guarantee that they will be able to play all the new releases for that time as well. Think series S pricing and that's a neat little package for people who want a PC and a console but don't want to cough up $1500. And no the hardware compatibility isn't a problem at worst they could fit in a raspberry pi'esque thingy that shares the ram or something just to take care of windows. Press a button, now you're in the Xbox OS. Press again, you're in Windows. All this for $400 instead of $1000 to 2000? Sign me up... 1080p is fine, budget is budget after all.

Console players want a simplified, worry-free, closed system designed for a living room experience where they can plug in, power on, and play. Adding windows and making a console upgradable is just a gaming PC. Thats fine if you want a gaming PC, but now you’ve just complicated things for everyone who purposely doesn’t want that. Otherwise everyone would just have PCs and there would be no console market.

Why doesn’t Microsoft release a console with a built-in 4K disc player and some of the same graphical and AI/frame sampling upscaling improvements as the PS5 Pro, and then maybe allow you to run the 3rd party games you bought from Microsoft on PC to be able to run locally on XBox as well? Full backwards compatibility with all previous XBox Console games? They would need to expand their own Microsoft store to sell more 3rd party games to compete directly with Steam and Epic Games Store. They need more memory and faster SSD speeds as well. Don’t put new release titles on XBox live subscription service for at least a year or more.

That was my only gaming console I pre-ordered and then sold... Those pathetic 30fps conversions like Flight Simulator, Hellblade2 or Redfall - I play those games in frame generated 100+fps on ROG Ally X.

kk am gonna say something as i know wtf i am talking about , in saying that ppl can buy wtf they want with there hard earned cash !, i own a switch , 3 pcs one very high end with a 4990 ( not boasting just saying i had the cash at the time so i wanted the best and the best was a 4090, although i did consider the 7900xtx fr , anyways regarding the ps5 pro yes it will be an upgrade but it wont be a massive upgrade as most ppl are expecting , what a 6700 - 6800 or a 7700xt which i thought it was all along , regardless if u are paying 700 us dollars of ur hard earned cash u should at least be getting a discdrive , dont u think ? for that price i would expect a years worth of pls plus for free included and what no stand ? wtf lol , yet the ps5 og came with a stand hmm ok , ppl are u stupid ? i dont think so but i advise u to wait till the price drop on this console as 700 dollars is not to be sniffed at , yes i own a ps4 and ps3 and ps2 also and love them all . just saying , sorry to ramble amen , peace out , its your money , spend how u will .

Not really. Microsoft had a solid Xbox One launch, and they were getting back on track when Kinect was taken out of the box and the price of the console lowered to match the PS4. What's still haunting Microsoft is Phil Spencer putting every Xbox exclusive on PC day and date. That gave fewer people any reason to buy the hardware. We'll see Sony's hardware sales drop, too, if they decide to start releasing their games day and date on PC.

For casual gamers who play on a TV from the couch it's a good time to play on XBox Series X. It's everywhere available (new and used), noticeably cheaper than PS5/Pro, you get a ton of games (digital and classics on second hand disks), have access to a big library via several Game Pass and Uplay options and the biggest publisher brings all their titles to it. Nobody takes anything from XBox if they release on PlayStation as well. And for people that don't have time to play "all" games available and don't want to buy into expensive PlayStation and even Nintendo ... I think XBox still is an underrated option everyone should also consider. - Even PC players looking for a second device for the living room TV to play Game Pass on with only one subscription and mostly everywhere cross save. It should be totally okay with everyone if PS5 gets the same version than Series X and if the Pro gets a graphical upgrade with PC at the end delivering the most. It kinda has been this way since forever.

LOL - Sea of Thieves - better framerate, better loading times, better settings, better resolution on 1.5Tf weaker hardware. Someone would say - it is just 1,5Tf - yeah enough power to deliver Doom Eternal in 1080p60 or RDR2 in 1080p30... or Horizon2... (literally Ps4 performance). Imagine what Naughty Dog or Insomniac would do with that extra 1.5Tf if they made TLOU2 to run on 1.5Tf :D.

Apparently the split memory was the issue. Series X has faster than PS5 10GB and 6GB slower than PS5 memory. As PS5 was the lead platform devs utilised higher than 10GB causing sloppy Xbox versions as understandably not worth it for them to do the optimisation. Lack of will to optimise has been the issue as the boxes are both running AMD hardware.

Yeah I've boycotted anything Microsoft since my entire Xbox 360 digital library lost the licenses and I was told I was SOL!!! My library showed up on my profile proving I purchased everything, but nothing would play, so after contacting xbox live they told me the licenses were not showing up so there was nothing they could do! Since then I do not buy digital, and nothing at all new from Microsoft. I was bummed when they bought Bethesda because I've beat every main Elder Scrolls game, so now when 6 comes out I will wait until I can buy it used second hand so no money goes directly to Microsoft. Besides PlayStation and Nintendo, my PC gaming is only on Linux because Microsoft should go out of business!
