I didn't. It was abysmal. Not a single mention of Christ. This isn't a Christian show then. Theologian my butt. Both the interviewer and Jon did a disservice to Mikhaila and the viewers by beating around the bush so much. I had more hope in Jon who in the end made an attempt to present the Gospel. As for the interviewer, who I've seen interview Calvinists and Molinists, I don't think I will check out this channel's content again. He could've set things for Jon to help Mikhaila out, but didn't. Makhaila sounds more Christian than the interviewer and she doesn't sound convicted AT ALL. At this point, she's all about how God can make her life better. As soon she she gets tested she'll run away, just like her dad. Where does that leave the "theologian" interviewer then? In the be nice eleventh commandment zone.

Glad she became a follower of Jesus. And even more Glad she talked with Jon on this topic. I hope we keep leaning into this sorta dialogue and engaging with Gen z. I wonder if Gen z being more “none” is more connected to age, Once folks grow up, have kids, experience suffering tend to come around to God?

It's honestly most likely the U.S. school system having a bent toward secular humanism. Indeed, the demons in the spiritual realm have a greater foothold to spread lies if people are not at least introduced to the Word of God in education like it used to be. I found out the immigrants coming to Ellis Island were required to read and write out a Bible verse in order to be able to come to the United States and that was just 100 years ago... nowadays the illegal immigrants come over freely. This is the root issue as to why America/Gen Z is becoming depraved more so than prior generations in America... at least that's what I think.

As gen z I think it’s hard to know.... the way I think has changed since I was 15 so yeah defs a possibility. With the internet it’s sometimes hard to know how ‘real’ people think, irl I’ve been able to have some good conversations with people both gen z and millennials they have been quite open to many ideas.

I think you’re right. As a Gen Z myself (born in late 1999), even though I grew up in a Christian household, I didn’t seriously start thinking about God until after my parents’ divorce, which happened right as I was about to start high school. This caused a lot of un-stability in my life, had to go through a lot of changes, and I’m still suffering from the consequences of the divorce even after almost a decade later. But that’s ultimately what triggered me to seriously convert and start praying to God. God was the only stable force in my life, without Him I don’t know how I would’ve survived or coped with everything that happened in my life.

@@wayoftheinspiredword2825 Glad you have started to seek God. This is why it's much harder for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of Heaven because they are less likely to humble themselves and be dependent on God if there is no suffering. Hard times produces faith in living God who hears our every prayer.

Mikaela is just a pleasure, what a terrific young woman and also a big encouragement. Her dad has blown my mind more than once. Terrific to meet Jordan's daughter, figures she would be terrific. Nice to meet her on a public forum on her own terms. You all are truly strengthening me, some old guy. God bless you all three lovely people.

Hey Justin, could we get a Doug Wilson - Jordan Peterson conversation? Might be a long shot since both of them are surely in high demand at the moment, but listening to this and seeing some of the ways Doug has addressed Jordan’s recent journey makes me think that would be an excellent dialogue.

Idk... I don't think Doug is the right person to talk to Jordan about faith. I don't think Jordan could take Doug seriously if I'm being honest. Jordan has said that he can't take the step to become a Christian because when he looks around at the rest of us he doesn't see the power of God. Doug, (like many pastors) has taken a lot of extra biblical ideas and made them big issues. This leads to dissensions and a lack of grace. If Jordan is going to speak to anyone it should be someone who isn't just going to address the intellect of the matter, but the heart of the matter. It needs to be both. And Jordan needs someone to interpret his dream for him. This is my opinion.

If you were to tell ppl their going to never never land would they get offended 16:30 bad things are happening all the time. "Well you need God. How do I get that? Go home and pray and ask God to reveal Himself to you." The next day things turned in a better direction and she felt comforted 17:45 "felt calm and lifted which I think was the HS" 39:50 a large part of God being very difficult to explain 40:01 can God be really seen or discovered in the coincidences of life? Like "follow the sginals" ie syncronicities 49:01 the character of Christian family's playing a major role in the belief for the existence of God 58:19 solid point

I really appreciate the discussion and I am so thankful you have chosen Christ Mikahaila. I have been prayng for your family for years since your dad first took his stand in Toronto. I became a Chritian in 1978. I was not raised in a Christian home but my parents were influenced by Christian teachings from their family of origin. I was an angry young man (born 1955) and started drinking when I was 12. My first time going to the bar was with the senior men's ball team when I was 15. I felt like an outsider most of my life and longed for deep friendship. I got involved in the drug scene when i was 15 and the group i engaged with allowed me to form deep personal bonds. Because of my breakup with a girl who was a few years older than me (I was about 17 at the time) I became suicidal and I decided that the best way to go out was by drug use. During that time I first took acid (orange sunshine). It had a dramatic effect on me and changed my perception of things. My suicidal tendencies were overcome. LSD became my drug of choice along with MDA. From my research since then I have that some clinical studies found LSD when used in careful environments can be effective. (See Psychedelic Psychiatry: LSD on the Canadian Prairies by Erika Dyck). My experience with LSD was a component in my life which God used to create some space in my being. It was a number of years later having wrestled with other issues in my life and having seen where I was headed (drunkenness and anger which was surfacing more) combined with one of my best friends being severely injured in a car crash, that I began studying the bible. It was in the gospels where I came face to face with the Living God who loved me so much that He chose to die for me. Would I recommend people trying LSD to expand their minds in search of God. No. My use of LSD was a sideline in my search. Rather I would say read the gospels in the Bible. Open your heart as Mikhaila has and ask that He reveal Himself.

I'm a Christian from Vietnam. As Mikhaila, I first opened up to the idea of God through psychedelics. I prayed for Dr. Peterson that one day the text that he was reading with his mind would become an experience and lead him to God. This video and Dr. Peterson's video where he speaks to the Christian churches are confirmations that God is answering prayers. I feel heavy on my heart, that the time is short, and we have to spread the Gospel to the young generations. The harvest time is here. God bless all!

"I don't know how this will play with the Christian audience, but I took a lot of psychedelics..." Mikhaila, you'd be surprised at the large number of spiritually-regenerate Christians who experimented with mind-altering drugs starting with the Boomer generation and the late '50-'60s. I was one of them and I've walked with the Lord Jesus Christ for 53 years now. Yes, psychedelics play(ed) an important role in lifting us out of materialistic philosophies and into the reality of metaphysics and spirituality. So, I hope you find it plays well. Thank you John for hitting the nail squarely on the head with your final statement. We cannot ever deserve salvation, we are all equally lost and it's only through and in Christ that we are and could be saved. Thank you Jesus! Finding out Mikaela became a Christian is exciting as it is with all people making that choice, heaven celebrates each salvation. If I may add one last thing... it is ALL about relationship and not religion. You can practice some christian exercises and do some religious things but never be known by God. He is interested in having a relationship with you. Once you realize this and pursue a relationship with Him, your life will change. Read the Bible, it is the living word of God. Don't take my word for it, try it and you will experience Him for yourself and then no one would be able to convince your otherwise. Blessings!

I've heard time and time again from Christians and non-Christians alike that certain attitudes or behaviors are a "turn off" and won't get people to believe in God. I am here to dispel that fallacy. as a Christian, I am to "go out and make disciples of all nations..." in other words, followers of Christ. But the bible doesn't talk in specific detail how to or how to not do that. Follow His commands, be an example, go on a missions trip, etc. etc. There are so many ways to show the love of Christ but we aren't all called the same way. Some feel compelled to be on a street corner with signs, some feel compelled to never mention their personal relationship with Jesus and merely serve in the background. Just because something might make you feel uncomfortable like being a street pastor, doesn't mean it's wrong for that other person to be a street pastor. whatever God is calling you to do it is for YOU to be obedient. Your actions aren't the end-all when it comes to ministering to others. God moves in someone's heart, and neither myself nor any other person, even a pastor, can make another person believe or "un-believe" the Truth. I can't make anyone accept Jesus into his/her heart nor can I do anything to make someone reject God. So to say that certain behaviors turn people off to the church, is just plain false. We are "all sinners and have fallen short of the glory of God." Our faith in Him should cause us to listen to the Holy Spirit, act in a manner that we are called to, and make sure said action is done in a Christ-like manner. But don't tell me that Jesus never got in peoples' faces, or called them out for their sins, or caused a scene, or made people feel uncomfortable. I can't make my kids love Jesus, I can only trust, pray, and lead as an example. You are biblically incorrect if you think that you're responsible for the decision making of any individuals' choice to believe or not believe. You're only held to account for your own relationship.

Believing in any type of religion is just a huge cope. There are different reasons people start to believe. Peer pressure, indoctrination and desperation are the main ones from the top of my head. It's a way for people to handle hardships in life without having to face the bleak reality that is rational thinking and self-proclaimed virtue. No hate towards anyone practicing religion, I've seen the good it can do and definitely think a positive and healthy belief system with accountability is possible. But it's a cope nonetheless. You need something to get you through. Note this isn't the first time Mikhaila (and her father) have went to great lengths to try and cope with their stressful lifestyles. Benzo addiction, Carnivorous diet and now religion. I get it, but on the other hand I don't really condone trying to talk the masses into following these lifestyle choices. In addition, the reason why you say it's "Hard to talk to people about religion because they haven't experienced it", is because you are referencing a fictitious belief with 0 form of scientific evidence. You couldn't even get there with heavily biased rational thinking and open mindedness, there is just nothing there but "believe or don't believe".

That's right Jon! It is a gift from God through faith in Jesus Christ, not of ourselves. For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:21-28 KJV But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; 22Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: 23For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; 24Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: 25Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; 26To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. 27Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. 28Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.

I don't see any problems in having God in your life, I have that in my own life as well as a result of going through some immense struggles - and I come from an agnostic upbringing. But I don't see the merit to narrowing your vision to christianity. There are allegories contained in all parts of religion and even just in everyday life and literature that holds great meaning. It might be hard to keep your mind open to all of that, but I do believe we're best off as a species to eventually open up to a more cosmic and all encompassing view on the nature of God. Religions ultimately promotes division through symbolism - meaning, we get caught up over time (and I mean a LOOONG time, decades and centuries) in the meaning of arbitrary symbols contained in religions and we end up starting conflict over that. So, IMO - the trick is, to find your God, and then to keep looking for more, keeping your mind open.

I am a seventy six year old Catholic man.....raised RC....and attended Catholic school including high school and raised my kids in the faith....and I have been struggling mightily, especially for the past twenty years, and given the facts that have come to light regards the abuse scandals worldwide along with the residential school abuse here in my own country of Canada, am fast becoming disillusioned with the Catholic faith . Now with all this divisive crap going on with Trads regard Vatican II etc....I don't see any future for my Roman Catholic Church.....I see more light in the Orthodox, and Missouri Lutheran churches. Perhaps what I need for spiritual healing is some shrooms or acid....because attending mass and receiving Christ in the Eucharist...praying to Mary and the saints, spending hours and days in prayer to Jesus seems to avail me very little in the way of peace of mind, let alone joy in the faith.

Schrooms won’t heal anything, but its good to hear that you are escaping the RCC. The Gospel isn’t owned by an institution and Jesus remains victorious even if we all fail. I hope you cling to Him, above any man or women around here.

Chee Chak, peace comes through complete surrender to God through Christ. My hope, joy, and peace is found in Christ. If you are trying to find joy through your church institution, attending mass, praying to Mary and the Saints, and taking communion, you will find your joy very fleeting and illusive. Someone can pray to Jesus as many hours as they want, but if they don’t recognize they are a wretched sinner in need of saving, and surrendering their entire life to Christ is their only hope, they won’t find fulfillment in those things. I pray you can find true fulfillment in Christ, not in drugs.

Sweetheart my heart goes to you. Our Lord Jesus does care for you and loves you. It seems you've been all over gleaning and searching but have ever call upon our Lord Jesus Himself directly? I pray you'll hear His words of His loving kindness towards you from the Bible it'self as you read or hear it from an audio Bible. You don't need acid or magic mushrooms, only an open humble teachable heart that really wants Him for Himself. A heart that wants, our Lord Jesus who sincerely want to know what is God's truth and that it's perfectly revealed in Jesus who is His son. Being a Christian is not about experiences, it's about listening to what He has written in His Word the Bible and believing that is written is the truth. That I'm a sinner who desperately needs and longs for the Lord Jesus to be your own personal saviour and then choose daily to follow Him and this blossoms into a life with Him and in Him and Him in you. Asking Him daily for His guidance and help and as you share your life with Him. You get know a person by spending time with them and by listening/hearing to them. To be strengthened by Him and in His strength by trusting in His abilities and trustworthiness. Even this our Good Shepherd will show you by studying Him. I would begin with the New Testament first and then The Old. The Old Testament with make better sense because of who Jesus our Lord is. Love, Be comforted our Lord is the one who draws people to Himself, He has promised and has never lost one. Our Lord Jesus always keeps His promises. His ways are not our ways because His ways are good, He is wise totally towards those who put their trust in Him. He can give that ability to trust in Him but we must ask and believe like a little child. From what you say you went to many" churches" not necessarily Jesus. I wish I could give you a giant hug. He does care and love you. He came to seek and to save the lost. I pray you will know deep in your inner being, His great gracious loving kindness towards YOU 🥰 and that unfading joy will bless your heart with a deep understanding of who Father God is, revealed in our Lord Jesus in the power and wisdom of the Holy Spirit. Put your trust in Him and what He has written and what He has promised and try not compare yourself to others. Our Lord Jesus only creates originals who grow daily to become like our big brother our Lord Jesus.

THE GOSPEL Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: - 1 Corinthians 15: 1-4 KJV Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. - John 15:13 KJV SAVALATION For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. - John 3:16 KJV For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. John 3:17 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. - John 14:6 KJV Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Acts 4:12 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. Romans 5:10 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. - Isaiah 53:5 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. Ephesians 2:8-9 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel. - Mark 1:15 KJV He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. - John 3:36 KJV Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began. 2 Timothy 1:9 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost. Luke 19:10 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. Mark 16:16 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. 1 Corinthians 15:22 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:7-8 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. John 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. - Romans 10:9-11 KJV For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. - Romans 10:13 KJV For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. Romans 1:16

It’s slightly different but for the lay person, what happens is that the person smacks lips or moves like someone has tied them up. Their mental status seems impaired during the time etc. What Peterson had may have been true akathisia with compazine/prochlorperazine and others or it may just have been tardive dyskinesia and mislabeled akathisia-honestly the names don’t matter all that much. What is "...condescending..."? Is the thought/belief that there is a God condescending? To someone who doesn't think there is a God, it is... Mikhaila even somewhat said that's how she saw things before coming to believe there is a God. In a simple dictionary definition, when people think someone is being condescending in the way they're communicating something, you'd understand it to mean that the person is communicating with an attitude of superiority... In a patronizing kind of manner. No one likes to feel they are being spoken down to... Therefore, if you don't believe there is a God and someone is saying that they believe that there is... This immediately sets up a scenario of seeing it as condescension. Meaning this... You can't communicate the matter of your belief in a God to someone who doesn't believe there is a God... WITHOUT... that person feeling like they are being spoken down to. And this brings us to a whole slew of psychological considerations... Which I won't chase in this comment. Suffice to say... As is common with people who have in one way or another recently come into a conscious relationship with God - and I'm speaking from a Christian perspective, as presented in biblical scripture - their view, and we all began this way, is one of God based in and out of our natural human perspective. As time goes by though, if we endure, we will come to see that it's not our natural human view that counts, but that it is God's divine view that counts. This is the principle of Moriah that was revealed in scripture, when God brought Abraham (Note... I said... When God brought Abraham) to the land of Moriah for the purpose of offering his beloved son, Isaac, to God as a sacrifice. To see as God sees... This is the need of fallen man. In the book of Job we read where Job, after many sufferings (and Mikhaila should make note of this matter of the multitude of sufferings God allowed Job to suffer through), said that he had before only heard about God, but that now his eyes had seen God. Biblical scripture tells us that faith comes by hearing... But then this hearing of faith opens our eyes so that we may see reality. Yet it doesn't end there... After seeing, we need to enter into the reality of what we see... Then abide in it (take it as the source of our being)... And then live by it. This is the process of perfecting in Christ Jesus that all born again of God believers in Christ Jesus will go through... And it doesn't happen overnight... Nor over a few weeks, months, or years... Our perfecting in Christ Jesus is a process that last a lifetime... And it is all of God. And herein is the most dynamic paradigm shift that any human will ever experience... The shift from taking our natural man as the source and center of our living and being, to taking divinity/God as the source and center of our living and being. Be clear though... This doesn't take place in any religion... Biblical scripture is clear... God hates religion. Biblical scripture is clear... God is Spirit, and those who worship Him - meaning believe in Him and subject ourselves to Him - do so in spirit and truth. It is spirit and truth that God has given us to experience God in and through... And NOT some kind of human contrive called religion. Again... Biblical scripture tells us that God hates religion... All religion... Including Christianity. According to biblical scripture, Christ Jesus is a Person... A living Person... Not a religion. And according to biblical scripture, our relationship with the Father, meaning God, is in and through Christ Jesus... As we read in biblical scripture... No one comes to the Father except through the Son. And the Son is a Person... Not a religion. See all this talk about people falling away from religion? Hallelujah!!! "...Come out of her My people...". Religion, with all it's folly of human contrived denominations, doesn't bring anyone to God... Only the Spirit, Who is Christ Jesus (yes, read biblical scripture, 2 Corinthians 3:17), brings us the God. Anyway... This is getting long... I'll end this comment with this final thought... Matthew 16:24... "Then Jesus said to His disciples, If anyone wants to come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me." Anyone who has the thought that another person is being "...condescending...", has not denied themselves... And as such, hasn't picked up their cross, and is not following Jesus. The cross is a killing instrument... It terminates the natural man. There is therefore no thought about what you may think another person is for the person who has suffered the killing work of the cross... And has been brought into the resurrection life of Christ Jesus. In the resurrection life of Christ Jesus, there is only His thoughts... And Jesus, knowing who natural man is, never thought of any natural man as being "...condescending..." to Him... Jesus, even though He had chosen to humble Himself to the flesh of man, was always clear Who He was/is. And one day, He will bring us all whom God has called and chosen in Him from before the foundation of the earth... Into the full realization of this as our reality... Christ in you, the hope of glory. Now specifically for Jon... In your natural man reasonings you think that Jesus went to where the person was... But my brother in Christ... If... As we read in the following scripture verse... Romans 11:36... "Because out from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen." Then, the person that Jesus went to, was placed there by Jesus. So Jesus didn't just go to where the person was... Jesus went to where He had purposely placed the person. My brother in Christ... The reasonings of our natural man will never bring us into oneness with the God whose ways and thoughts are not the ways and thoughts of our natural man. Amen.

The reason why so many people identify as "spiritual" and not Christian is the modern day church. Covid was such a blessing in disguise cause it revealed the churches that preach the truth vs. the one's that lie and lead people astray with regards to salvation or theology. As Christians who are still warring against the flesh (sin) we can actually obey God's law and understand its depth. Without the holy spirit it is not possible to obey His law. Unfortunately we will be judged and held account because God is a righteous judge and will make things right in the end. No one can escape His wrath. 2 Peter 3:9 "The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance." God is just and must punish sin but he does not wish any should perish and his sacrifice was sufficient for all. My hope is that the Peterson family will be ushered into the family of God and they will have authentic faith and not be lead astray with a false Gospel that appears to be the real one but is not.

Christianity is the most popular religion on Earth (chock full as it is with hypocrites & liars) & yet Matthew 7:14 proclaims: small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. Whilst wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. Which seems to suggest (if you believe your own texts) that Christians are “on the broad road”. But then again, Christians don’t care about truth they just want to be on the winning side.

Hi Jon B -- many claim to be Christian but are not truly Christian. That's why the whole of the NT urges discernment. It is one thing to claim that I'm trusting Christ to save me, another to have truly abandoned all hope in self and to have cast myself only upon Him and His sacrificial death. True Christians have done the latter. Much of what claims to be 'Christianity' denies the fundamental tenets of true 'Christianity'. Another point to note is this Mikhaila Peterson (I hope and pray she has truly become a Christian) has only professed faith recently and yet she is now being treated as an expert in Christianity!! This is completely against NT teaching. However -- there you have it -- we are in a celebrity culture and the word of God is set aside for views on FB and YT!
