Mikiya Wagyu Shabu House recently opened in Houston to rave reviews so of course I needed to venture in being the AYCE and shabu shabu addict that I am. The thing I found instantly intriguing about Mikiya was the "meat cellar" of wagyu steaks that greets every customer walking in. Reminded me of a similar set-up at the world famous Gallaghers Steakhouse in NYC. Mikiya has an impressive array and selection of Wagyu cuts including of course A5 Japanese but also 100% Australian Wagyu called M9. I was basically salivating as soon as I stepped into the restaurant and Mikiya did not disappoint. I truly believe that Mikiya Wagyu Shabu House is the new standard of hot pot and shabu shabu offerings in Houston and I definitely will be back!
