Super duper video! I like that you can smile while treading. I can't smile doing this....As for me... I started this journey 7 years ago. (At 60 y.o.).. so, you know I'm now 67....and this treading water is a chore.. everybody tells me the same word "relax"... at least I'm not afraid of the deep end (10') anymore...& I dive off the board...so, I've come a VERY LONG WAYS. Thanks be to God for letting me accomplish a lifelong dream that was on my "bucket list". Thank you for your helpful videos. You're good people. Blessings. 😊

The fact that the body naturally floats is a big first eureka moment for me as I start to learn to swim. I thought we all naturally sink to the bottom.

I learned the eggbeater in high school.. challenge yourself. We would put both hands on head and tread. When able to do this for one minute then five minutes.. later we held 30 lbs of diving weights with Both hands. This was very helpful because it really challenged us. If you’re a Floater, you quickly sink to bottom. I was able to tread for 3 minutes.

Thank you for mentioning that your head doesn't have to be completely above the surface. I thought that it did and had become very discouraged.

Hi i have been struggling to keep my face outside water when i tread. My body sits pretty low amd just my eyes are above water. I struggle to take a breath, because it would a fraction of second out before i go back down or i have to tilt my head backward which is kind of cheating in threading. Being able to tread and talk would be a dream. Please suggest what might be wrong. I also need to pass a treading test for 10 mins.

If you’re a Floater, in zero seconds, you quickly sink to bottom. I was able to tread for 3 minutes, then i sank. I was really beat.

Hey Coach Mandy! How do we possibly prevent people from thinking that we’re looking at them and starting at them even though we’re not trying to do any of that and it’s just an accident while we’re treading water and that way we don’t drown? I wouldn’t want anyone to think that I’m starting at them and looking at them even though we’re not! So that’s why I asked so that way I’m safe in the water but also don’t get in trouble! Was that possibly a good question? I just need to be sure!

I am treading water better, thanks to your video but by 2 mins in I’m definitely out of breath

I'm glad to hear you're able to tread water! If you're feeling out of breath, you might be putting in too much effort 🙌🏼😎. The key is to do it efficiently; that way, 2 minutes won't feel as long. This technique is part of my online program. -CM
