silk elements from Sally's is the only texturizer that's perfect. leaves so much texture and of course leave hair not straight and do one side for 8 minutes total and wash out then other side same thing. perfect results!!! can't texturize entire head at one time. make sure to put some type of grease..lol..on the texturized hair when you do touch ups to avoid over processing. ;) good luck

Can you still blow dry your hair and come out with good texturized results if you blow dry your hair with this product only because like her I’m not really sure what my hair texture is (I’m assuming 4c) but my curls are tight Nd shrinkage is real .so it’ll be kind of hard applying it evenly to my natural curl pattern

Valerie Wilson you are absolutely right about silk elements. That is the best texturizer and the only one that won’t straighten ur hair. I used it for years and I messed up when I change to another one. I am all natural again but bout to do another silk elements.

What about linage textutizer
@rvlogger70248 жыл бұрын
I too have 4c hair, and I find that this hair type thrives either fully straight or fully natural, the in between that a texturizer offers, leads to breakage. Another lesson I learned is that because the hair is so tightly coiled, it takes way too much heat to straighten it, n that amount of heat kills the strand with every pass... It's been a minute but I think I've finally mastered my natural hair... Great video, stay blessed ma!

I have 4a,b,c mixed hair type and used a soft 'n free scurl texturiser. The mistake I made was under processing my mid-ends. I do suggest sectioning stretched hair into five parts, two in the front and back and one on the top centre. Do not start at the front of your hair, it will go straight if you are slow in applying. Start where the hair is the most curly, for me it is the top of my head. Apply your coconut oil to your end! and keep within the 7-8min time frame. My curls are still very prominent, but I no longer have the shrinkage issue.

stephxo Hiya! It sounds as if you processed it for too long for your hair. Did you do a patch test first? This was a process I only tried this one time years ago. I prefer a Brazilian home treatment, as the one I use washes out and i stretch it to once every six months. Try deep conditioning your hair in a few days and use steam to reactivate your root curls. Good luck 🤞

Hey! I have 4c hair I guess...more like 5c but it's not on the hair chart lol. I've been getting a texturizer now for about 3 years now. I retouch around every 6 months. I get it done professionally. Something that we have to do is to actually wet it before she puts it in so that it is manageable enough to actually get through my head in a timely manner so that she doesn't spend time just trying to get through my very thick coarse hair. Being wet makes it manageable enough so that she doesn't overlap as well. That's the biggest tip that helps me. Wet it first especially when retouching. This is only if you have very coarse hair of course. There's no way my natural hair can be combed or easily managed dry.

@LaToyaEbonyHair8 жыл бұрын
+Jenn J. I've read some about "natural relaxers" and read that using an actual relaxer (underprocessed) helps your hair from getting dried out because it doesn't leave the drying deposits hair "softeners" do. Also some people have recommended keratin treatments or Brazilian blowouts, but I've seen major heat damage from people using them. Also people that recommend them usually don't have my hair type. Hope this is a good starting point for you. Sorry you're going through this *sigh* yes, we live and we learn

i forgot to wash my hair for a month... took me 8 months to recover from that... then AFTER I started seeing progress from that.. .I experienced some MAJOR tangles, and instead of finger detangling...... I raked my comb through it and lost 16 percent in the process. It's been 6 months since I've been doing finger detangling and it's been helping me tremendously. I've only used a comb to comb out my ends for trimming, but when it comes down to it, now adays I'm even parting with my hands to get styles.

With the 'there is no easy way' that is the TRUTH honestly. I'm texlaxed and it's still difficult maintaining, it just has different difficulties versus natural hair. It's so frustrating because when I realized that there is no easy way with our afro hair I just got really frustrated..still am quite frustrated. I think natural hair is BEAUTIFUL but I don't want to go back to it because I just don't have the time to maintain it. But also with working with chemicals I never put it so it touches my scalp because I'm scared it will effect how my hair grows and so I start off a fresh texlax with some new growth and then the two textures collide and i get occasional mats and it's just..all overwhelming.
@LaToyaEbonyHair8 жыл бұрын
+cassiemichelle03 YES GIRL!! I feel your pain. Chemicals suck, but so does spending hours on our hair. No easy way at all. I decided to transition back to natural because it was the less of two evils and ultimately healthier. Up keeping texturizers was something I thought I could do, but it made me too nervous. And I am definitely paying for it with this transition lol! If you're down, maybe try transitioning for 6 months and see how you feel? At that point you can keep going, big chop, or texturize again. If it sounds like a good idea, keep it braided up a while to help with the process-just to keep your mind off your hair while you decide. Braiding my hair under wigs helped me tremendously.
@cassiemichelle038 жыл бұрын
LaToya Codner Haha! Well I actually only texlax twice a year so I guess technically I have already 'transitioned for 6 months'. I never wear my hair curly and down, if I wear it curly it's in a pony or a bun - I always just flat iron it which is why I stretch for so long because it doesn't make a huge difference, until wash day when I have to detangle the new growth. I basically just texlax so the blowdry/flat iron process is faster. I've actually been leaning towards wigs, thanks for the tip!

Sorry to have had that experience. As a stylist we make sure we let clients know doing a consultation what to expect. All texturizer will dry hair out over time it doesn't add moisture. That's why it has moisturizer you have to purchase separately.. It's imperative that you keep it treated... Oil, reconstructor and conditioning. You should only use wide tooth comb and not use it like a relaxer. Texturizers should only be in no more than 5-15 minutes at the longest and never smooth it out unless you're actually are going straight. You should see the s pattern.

I’m Afro latina with a slightly looser curl 3c/4a and my trick for defined curls is I do a mask first with bentonite clay to get my curls to pop then I rinse it off and dab it dry but only a little because I want it to be slightly damp then immediately after I put some oils on my scalp and edges and then I apply the texturized. My curls stay moisturize and don’t feel stripped or after and the curl stays coiled but loose. ☺️ works for me anyway ❤️

+anna geoge oh man, I feel you. I didn't mean to get it so straight! I was really disappointed and not down to keep texturizing and possibly getting inconsistent results. Damned if you do, damned if you don't I guess...

Hi... I used a texture softner on my daughter's hair and have made a complete mess. Her hair is chronically DRY and DAMAGED. The scalp is dry and flaky. The hair closest to the root is extremely course and hard to the touch. The rest of the hair shaft ( what's left of it) is severely broken off, damaged and week. There is so much hair coming out in the comb. Does anyone have any ideas? Please! Im desperate!

If you textlax your hair once will you have to keep doing it ?
@LaToyaEbonyHair6 жыл бұрын
Yes. Or your roots will grow out and the different textures may break your hair off. If you don’t texturize again, you are considered “transitioning” back to natural.

Because i been texturizer my hair from i was at high school and i stop at about 20 now am 23 and my hair is pritty much the same it once was aka natrul
@LaToyaEbonyHair5 жыл бұрын
LOL! Why ask a question you think you know the answer to? When hair is chemically texturized it breaks down the bonds of the hair, altering it forever. The only way to get the original texture back is to grow it out and cut off the texturized ends. Based on what you wrote, you stopped texturing your hair and for three years your original texture has grown out. I encourage you to research what happens to the strands of the hair when a person gets a texturizer or relaxer.

Texturizers seem like they never really work long-term. Just use it once to have loose curls, then basically cut your hair off lol. It seems like a nightmare to prevent demarcation lines, and the curls never turn out how people want. Should people just texturize while wearing little flexi rods? and you just use the same rods every time?

Just for me is the worst. I used it to texturize my daughter hair it ruined it. I texturized her before and it was beautiful but the product I used was no longer on the market. But will never ever use just for me again.

I just texturized my 4c hair yesterday with soft and beautiful no lye texturizer.. I did it on dirty hair tht i took down from a faux loc style i had in for like 2 months so it was already stretched and defined. I worked each section startin with the most coarse and smoothed and detangled until the buzzer went off. I kept it in for 15 mins total and baaaby😍i love the results my hair is still in its same state just easier to detangle, its elongated and the curls gurl the curls jus poppin all over the place! I say try a no lye texturizer as they tend to be milder than the kiddie kits
