My mom was asking at the end of the episode, what happened to all the random town people. I know in the game you run across more people after Ellie escapes the cage. My assumption was this was the slaughterhouse away from the town. David said only a few people knew they were cannibals, so they couldn't take a chance and cut up the bodies in the town. That's why only David and Troy Baker's character were there.

@@thec9424 I thought the same way when I watched it, I was kinda mad they changed it. But then I saw a comment that said maybe they changed it to show how Ellie can survive on her own without a doubt, even getting out of the burning building. If Joel died because of the wound, she would've got out of all of it on her own either way. I like that, it means they are together because they want to go through together. Joel could've left her in Jackson and she doesn't really need him, so if they're together is because of something else, they're family now. In the game we have countless hours to get to this, but I like how the show cut through a lot (I mean they have to) and still gave us the same emotion.

But as it stands in the show, him calling her baby girl would have meant more when the audience knows that he had seen personally what she had done. They even took away Ellie's "He tried to..." luckily, the acting is so amazing that the scene was even better than the game anyway.

@Jwanma Bella is nailing it. But the "He tried to.." was her too emotionally shook to even say it. That is dialog, not acting. Bella would have pulled that off too. Imo, Joel seeing her chopping a guys head to pieces and having to pull her off and not only not judging her but embracing her more than ever before would have added more to an already near perfect scene. She watched him do some pretty brutal things. Not heard about but watched with her own eyes and responded with fascination and building to understanding, acceptance and at last caring. It was his turn. And his response of more caring than she had received from anyone in forever... Either way, it was amazingly acted and I am satisfied. Both actors have me sold on any future projects.

This episode is almost perfect….we need more infected. It sucks they cut mostly all of that out. Fighting alongside David adds more weight to the reveal of him being the most dangerous person you come across. 9/10 episode for me. Would’ve been a 10 if they could’ve fought like 3 or 4 infected for like 5-7 mins during the campfire scene. Also kinda sad to realize that we’re probably going to go through this season and NOT see a SINGLE bloater be killed….I would’ve liked to see Joel be a bad ass on at least one of these things but I guess party is just over whenever they show up 🤷🏻‍♂️😂

The reaction is pretty primal and doesn't have a political lean. You see a child rapist, you want justice for the child. Maybe you meant that this is an argument for the second amendment, but it's still a pretty odd way to watch and assume what others are thinking about the 2nd amendment. The point I am making is if any of them are anti-2nd Amendment then why support Ellie chopping a guys face into tiny little pieces. The cleaver is symbolically the pew pew in this situation because without it something bad would have happened to Ellie. The fact she had a way of defending herself (as well as the initial knife) is awesome. It is people like David that make 2nd Amendment people want to be armed. We prepare for the worst yet hope for the best. We don’t ever want to have to use one but it is nice to have just in case. I hope everyone with these reactions are pro 2nd Amendment.
