She was apparently clean in that pregnancy and baby was born healthy without any drugs in her system thank goodness. CPS did come, they spoke to her and made sure all was good. No intake was done. I hope mom stays clean because it's terrifying with her last case just months past. Not even a oarticipat case..no services no unannounced visits... At minimum she should be monitored but she's not

Kudos to you on your sobriety. 🎉 I myself am going on 13yrs of sobriety, and my ex husband abandoned me and the kids during his active addiction. He just up and left without a word. I was speechless, but after going through the homeless shelter and building a career for myself while maintaining stability for our kids, I realized that sometimes the kids are better off in not knowing. They used to ask about him in the beginning, but now they praise me for keeping them safe and not allowing his inconsistency or unsafe behaviors around them. Addiction is such a selfish thing.and until you're clean you don't see how your actions have unwavering consequences.

Thankyou for your honesty- it's always so helpful and lifts some weight for me.♡. The "self medicating" was one thing for me, I then had to work on all the things that were left in the addictions wake, guilt, self centredness, avoiding things from childhood I had to deal with. It's 7.5 years now, and thank God my daughter is in contact because she wants to be. I would tell any mum in this situation- you're worth it. You may not feel it, but if you are fretting for your beautiful kids and determined to be a mum and have got yourself sober- you have a right to love yourself and to ignore the terrible self talk that may go on. Not even caring for my parents helped some of it- that was my amends- I was left with more guilt. I had to look at what flaws in thinking and self judgement was going on that sabotaged my life and self esteem/progress. Always either over- thinking or not thinking the right way, and the whole time, missing her like breath itself. And sober. Anyway, thankyou for your honesty.. I'm always so grateful to hear from sober mums.

@@AuntieWolf why did he stab her? Just because she said he stabbed her do we know the circumstances in which it happened? I understand that in DV cases….understand very well…that these women go thru a lot….and men….but I’ve also seen…too many times….that some will lie in order to gain sympathy….not in all cases. But I also know that when you have children involved you do everything you possibly can in order to give the children the life they deserve. Even mom deserves a good life and dad. But when you have the chance to do all you can to improve and you don’t then there’s a huge problem. Missing so many visits and not completing all plans….and if drugs are a problem then you get help…it will be difficult but if you have those who will help you have a good chance. It should not be entirely up to CPS or those working with them to do everything and you do nothing….mom or dad have to take initiative also to find out what they need to do. Start in one place calling and continue to call. So many of these parents sit back and wait for everyone else to bring everything to them. And when you already have other cases with CPS that’s alarming and if you have other children previously removed from your care…that’s disturbing and alarming. And you can tell by moms attitude here she has some issues either understanding or following directions. And I would not be surprised if she wasn’t still involved with him. Her attorney has prepped her well. And she’s missed a lot of drug testing. She’s lost 5 other kids “to these people”…..bull crap about the phone issue and feeling sorry for him…..moms “playing”…..how can you truly be that interested in working your plan when you’ve missed so many things. 5 kids……she can’t even handle herself here with questions….which are painful to her I get. But there comes a time. I’m not saying at all she’s not a victim of DV but I also don’t know her part….at times there’s DV from both sides. Once the attitude that people are trying to “just take your kids away” it may get better. The whole situation is heartbreaking….they all are. When they’re good and you see either mom or dad doing what they need to and improving then that’s a wonderful sight to see.

So because someone loses one child they are unqualified without question to have anymore children? That’s crazy because ppl can change. Half of the time peoples children are Wrongly removed and they end up being killed by their foster family. The system is broken, and they shouldn’t be allowed to toss kids around to him/her anyone they want. It’s bullshit. Then on top of that, the kids who are REALLY are being abused are not removed at all and end up being killed, or they give the child back to a dangerous parent who ends up killing them shortly after… The whole system needs an overhaul

I understand that Child Protective Services (CPS) is overwhelmed and their caseloads are many. Their employee Adda Salazar is very impressive. You can tell she does her job very well she never hesitates on providing the information asked of her and she knows this case inside and out. Many new caseworkers should observe Miss Salazar to learn how to do their job thoroughly and professionally. I read from the Dallas County CASA website that "The most serious CPS staffing issues in Dallas County have been with the investigation units which have experienced a reported 57% annual turnover rate which only recently dropped to 49%." It is a shame that a lot of caseworkers are seen as the ''bad guys' when people see them 'as stealing kids from their parents' when it should be they are saving the lives of children."

99.9% of people who claim CPS are stealing their children have grown so accustomed to their circumstances that they cannot see how their children are being harmed. Like a hoarder can't smell their stench, and a frog won't jump out of slowly warmed water, when people live in harmful / dangerous / unstable environments they get tunnel vision and can't see what harm is happening. You can explain the harm to them in a dozen different ways, but all they hear is busybody noises and criticism.

I was a permanent placement all my life though the people that raised me, from 6 months old, were my Mom and Dad. My ‘social worker’ showed up once. I was 17! CPS, back then, almost refused to take children away from their biological parents because it may harm the minor child. Living with my bio mother would have harmed me. These lovely people opened their home, their hearts and I always felt loved and wanted! I finalized my adoption when I was 30 years old. It was my gift to a couple who already had six kids and hundreds of foster children living at home when I was placed in their home. It was the only thing, besides my love and respect, that I could give these wonderful parents. I am a better person because someone else raised me. Its about the children, not keeping the cycle of abuse going.

Does anyone else think she is communicating with the father of her child during this hearing? Either by phone or he is sitting in the room. Her intention of showing the ceiling could be her attempt to avoid showing his face. Also, it ticks me off when they try to hide in full view. Courts have rules for zoom and it includes how the image should be set up. I have seen several versions but usually if you think of your school pictures, sternum to top of head and wider than shoulder to shoulder, this is the view the court needs. Facial expressions, mouth movement as in talking to others while the case is being heard, and body movements which all judicial system workers observe to learn about a person's actual feelings on an issue. The mouth an lie, the body and face....not so much!

When someone starts using drugs and has active addiction or is drinking alcoholicly they cease to grow, they😮 just become stuck in time, they do not mature, people these days seem to confuse entitled and immature, granted it's not a big difference, kind of a chicken or the egg situation, many, many drug users, abusers, alcoholics were raised in broken or single parent homes, additionally the parent or parents raising them used and abused drugs, you cannot pass on to someone that which you don't possess yourself, the parent is immature, uneducated, disenfranchised, under served in the community raising children who, too often end up exactly the same way, it's a pattern, an ugly legacy that self perpetuates, it's difficult to break this pattern, the mother here is probably doing exactly what she saw growing up, is most likely a high school drop out, not involved in her children's education, providing classroom support or support in extra curricular activities, she probably doesn't even understand the importance, she doesn't need the children she's had returned, she needs to be sterilized, harsh, but I've seen too much horrific outcomes from females popping out children they don't want, won't lovingly raise, go on to abuse and neglect, they've lost their right to bring life into the world in my view
