Moment Diane Abbott blunders over numbers AGAIN - Daily Mail

Diane Abbott has blundered over numbers again, appearing confused in a TV interview today about Labour's plans to fund the police. Speaking to ITV about rising crime figures in England and Wales, the shadow home secretary attempted to explain Labour's plan for 10,000 extra officers. But Ms Abbott came unstuck when she tried to outline how Labour would raise the £300 million it says is needed for the policy. Ms Abbott, a close ally of leader Jeremy Corbyn, said Labour would do so by reversing cuts to capital gains tax.

“Police people” That is how the Shadow Home Secretary refers to the men and women within the ranks of our Police Force. Incidentally, it reminds me of my 3 year old daughter who would often use the same language when we played “shops” Post office people, sweet shop man, bus stop people. You get the gist......... In past years I have proclaimed on numerous occasions that I could do a better job myself when referencing the actions, or lack of, in regards to politicians of all denominations, but would readily concede to the folly of such a statement, albeit a tongue in cheek, and one borne from frustration rather than logic. The same comment is still used enumerably, but alas, too often without any sense of folly.
