I love "the look" Ben Gives Popper... It's like, "Really?" 😂 Love your videos.

Hopper does this thing, as you saw in the video, where he pokes you with his nose when he wants somethings. It started out as a light tap, but as he's gotten more comfortable (and demanding) it's gotten much more aggressive. Sometimes I'll be at the counter cutting something, and he'll hit me in the knees from behind and almost take me down. He's quite the character. Haha.

I appreciate how you refer to childhood food memories and tastes in order to make those connections and ties with eating vegan. I really like that. There is comfort there. I would love to hear what you guys order at fast food places.

Food is more than just sustenance. There is a lot wrapped up in why we eat what we eat. In my humble opinion, the best way to get folks to eat less or no meat (and dairy) is to show them that they can still eat the foods they love, just made with different ingredients. Ben is a perfect example of this. Though he still does eat a bit of cheese occasionally, he was able to give up meat overnight because he can still go through a drive-thru and grab a burger when he wants. The ingredients are different, but the experience is still the same.
@catedee50123 жыл бұрын
@@MonsonMadeThis Yes, so true. I totally agree; there is a lot of comfort in what is familiar and getting something similar can satisfy that food need.

Oooh those snout boops, I just want to pet him! Great video, I don't have a lot of vegan processed food available, and frozen foods of any kind are actually expensive here so I usually cook from scratch or order take out. It's great to see the variety you have available!
@MonsonMadeThis3 жыл бұрын
Haha! I definitely prefer to cook mostly from scratch, but I agree that it's nice to know these things are out there for folks that depend on convenience foods to feed themselves. Ben loves a quick and effortless meal, so he's grateful that these things exist.

These products do sound really good! And considering you've tried many vegan pizzas, tofu scrambles and ice creams plus made some yourself, I am sure your opinion here is valuable :D Plus, I am always happy when non-vegans enjoy plant-based alternatives - makes me think we are heading in the right direction with these products! And the tiny cones seem like such a bomb treat! . Anyways, thanks for this taste test! I am glad you enjoyed these! Wishing you a great week ahead! Lots of love!

I've seen it, but never given it a go. It's actually available at a discount on Imperfect Foods this week. Maybe I'll add some to the order. I did but another brand that had the exact same packaging as the TJ's one, and it was NOTHING like it. The texture was very different, and it had zero flavor. I always thought that TJ's just re-packaged other brands' foods, but that's definitely not the case.

1. For anyone interested, there r 2 vegan facebook groups called everything vegan trader joe's and the original trader joe's which are pretty cool. That's how I know about #2

I bought the scramble and loved it. However I had a real problem with it and wonder if any of your non-microwave followers did as well. In order to bake this I had to remove the chunk of scramble from the paper bowl (per pkg instructions). A LOT of the paper was hard frozen to the product! I had to spend 10 minutes scraping it off with a sharp knife. At your suggestion I added a little bit of roasted potatoes, rolled it all in a tortilla and topped with some leftover enchilada sauce. Super good. But I don't want to have to scrape paper off my meal each time. Anyone??
@MonsonMadeThis3 жыл бұрын
I get it. I've been vegan for over 5 years, and the fact that it's "meat" isn't really a draw. I would have loved a roasted veggie pizza just as much. As a person who loves spice, I didn't really think think that the tofu scramble had any heat at all.
@sarahdee3743 жыл бұрын
@@MonsonMadeThis thanks so much for replying. I'm gonna try the scramble, I do like some heat, and can always add it. Hoping if the meat pizza is a hit at TJ's will expand to margarita or roasted veggie etc. I think most meat eaters think we vegans just sit around craving meat 24/7, right?
@veilbreak58672 жыл бұрын
Sarah Dee..I think this may happen if the product has slightly defrosted, then re frozen. I bought some vegen 'bacon' and every slice was stuck together, and top layer was stuck to the card
