Thanks for mentioning hairdresser. It’s a very hard job, people pleasing, serving all day, being positive and listening and talking even when you’re not feeling up to it. And standing and lifting arms in same positions for hours. Forty plus years here, and I am overweight. Thank God I have strong legs. And I can work part time at 65. Changing shoes mid day heels too, and a fatigue mat. I need to stretch more. Water, swimming is my jam!! Thanks!

I am very grateful for your videos. This is the third one ive watched tonight as I've been reintroduced to foot issues/fallen arches maybe/not ideal posture or gait. I've been standing at work for long hours combined with a lot of walking and recently started bouldering. I tend to do a lot of toe walking, and neglect hip rotation. And ganglion cysts forming on the outer mid parts of my feet. Formal assessment pending, i ironed this out with chatgpt, ha. I love how you deliver the information, and illustrate the varied nuances and considerations. Very comprehensive and insightful, thank you!

Many thanks indeed Dr, I’m sure these exercises will be a great benefit to my husband. He’s always had pain and problems with his back since falling off of a tractor wagon onto his back. Now he also has stenosis, arthritis and protruding discs L 1 and L 2 but has always suffered with lower back pain when standing. This has worsened even more with his latest lumber pain. Much appreciated

Very well presented! Thanks for sharing this knowledge and practical tips to help us improve. Could weak (rather than tight) muscles also be hindering good posture?
@More4Life
@More4Life Жыл бұрын
Absolutely! Whenever a muscle is tight, there's usually an opposing muscle that is weak. Different sides of the same coin.

My problem is that my feet become numb as I stand for longer time,of course i am over weight...any special remedy you suggest?
@More4Life
@More4Life Жыл бұрын
It depends on the cause of the numbness. A pinched nerve in your lower back can cause that, in which case the tips in this video would help. But it could also be caused by a foot or ankle problem such as tarsal tunnel syndrome. Here are a few other videos that may give you some ideas: Exercises for Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bIuvq5afrrmEmck Numbness in Toes? kzbin.info/www/bejne/e5qZmaSCgatolZo and as you mentioned, weight loss can help regardless of whether it's coming from your back, foot, or ankle.

Sorry to hear you're having such trouble. If you're having speech trouble, consider seeing a neurologist to make sure you've not had a stroke. As to just the back pain and walking problems, this video may help: kzbin.info/www/bejne/i4jHYaWLj9Z0a6c Still make sure to get it checked out professionally though.

I have a problem when wearing safety boots,I,suffer from pain from my calf's down to my feet are very painful
@More4Life
@More4Life Жыл бұрын
I can't tell you exactly what's causing it in your case, but here are some things that could cause such symptoms (and possible solutions): 1) Boots that are too tight. (Get looser ones) 2) Low heel to toe drop and tight calves. (Stretch your calves. Temporarily wear a heel lift or heel cup) 3) Walking on hard surfaces with poorly cushioned boots. (Get cushioned inserts) 4) Neuropathy, either from diabetes or otherwise (See your doctor) 5) Peripheral artery disease (See your doctor) 6) Blood clots in your legs - less likely if it's ONLY when wearing boots, but worth getting checked out. (See your doctor) This video about "Pain In Legs When Walking" may give you some insight: kzbin.info/www/bejne/opzdmWeKocmWgtk

Question if you don’t mind. Is it OK to put your hips against the wall and force your shoulders back against the wall to straighten out your spine
@More4Life
@More4Life Жыл бұрын
The concept of doing that is good. In practice, what usually happens though is that as you "force" your shoulders back to the wall, your lower back pops off the wall (there's a gap between your lower back and the wall). That means you're not really "straightening" your spine, you're just trading which part of your spine touches the wall (upper back instead of lower back).

@@More4Life thanks! That’s a bummer though. I want to be 6 foot two again instead of 5 foot 10. Osteoporosis and compression fractures suck
@More4Life
@More4Life Жыл бұрын
@@lesliefleming4359 yes, agreed that's a bummer. Unfortunately, exercises won't reverse compression fractures, and you definitely don't want to "force" anything with osteoporosis.
