Pro tip from one of the guys racing a GR Yaris (Rotheli racing I believe), the rear section of the exhaust getting very hot can cause the 4WD overheating issue, with a couple of bucks on some decent quality exhaust tape you can wrap the section around where the 4WD clutchpack and rear diff are - when he did that he didn't have a single overheat issue afterwards. When I install my new exhaust I will definately wrap the back of the center pipe.

@@garrettchapman8170 I was about to say that seems like a lot of expensive stuff to be classified as "little" mods, I mean you pointed out the expensive ecu (6.5k), but you also need cams (1k), and turbo upgrades (7k), and a custom fueling system (~3k), full exhaust (3.5K), intercooler (750-1k), valve springs (500), clutch (2-3k). So erroring on the cheaper side you still end up at 23.5k in mods; really doesn't seem so little anymore.

Pretty good, when you put it in context. Double the cubes, double the cyls, and you get a 3.2L, 6 cylinder, that will produce north of 1000hp with equivalent mods. Correct me if I'm wrong on those specs. Either way, pretty good.
@kaloyancholakov3725
@kaloyancholakov3725 Жыл бұрын
In theory yes, but that's not the main goal because they can fit this little engine in every car, also it comply with regulations, for the relatively small car 300hp is more than enough for most people and also cheaper to produce than the bigger engine. 1000 hp will require more hardcore components which will make the car more expensive and also will turn this vehicle into a very dangerous machine to drive. From a mechanical and technical point of view - the engineers could probably make even this engine double or triple the hp, but it will be 10-20 times more expensive to make it reliable and safe to drive. But yeah, I agree with you, the architecture of the engine seems to be powerful and well engineered.

@@RandomlnternetGuy I'm not sure about that people are still doing the intake, exhaust, intercooler, tune thing without understanding anything. I don't discourage, I give them links I expect them to read or watch a video. If it takes Gale Banks two hours to get his point across then you better sit your ass down and watch it, he won't be with us much longer and we'll be worse off for it. These DI Turbocharged cars are pretty much dummy proof. Also no mention of spark plugs here but that is often debated as if this is the 1990's all over again. People should do their research before buying anything especially cars, all of them are reliable some more than others but the spread between makes is less than 5% and don't get me started on overpaying for cars.

Agree - that it’s probably one of the more expensive ways to run an 11 or 10 sec quarter mile. Certainly a lot of other cars can do this with considerably far less money spent on them - and even if they were more expensive - spending $40k on your $70k new Yaris is still rather ‘an interesting investment’. Spending over $100k on a three door Toyota with 3 cylinders is gonna be a very niche market

@@moggedau in Australia you can buy an M340i xdrive from $88k used, low km’s, which is still less than the circa $110k spent on this Yaris - leaving over $20k in mods for the Beemer lol - which certainly isn’t needed

@@MotiveVideo This is absolutely a monster advantage when tracking a car. I ice race here in Alaska, which obviously plays an integral role when I drive my 97 Toyota Celica GT4. I heard rumors of such things. How is this done? Does it occur in that rearward electronic transfer case triggered by a parking brake switch? Thanks for the response, btw. You guys are the pioneers to watch!

Not great. You hit limiter in second just before 100. So... if you look at 0-60mph it's much better lol...
