Eddie Cochran Rock and Roll Siknger Crash Site and Place of Passing.
Eddie Cochran was an American rock and roll musician.
Eddie Cochran's songs, such as "Twenty Flight Rock", "Summertime Blues", "C'mon Everybody" and "Somethin' Else", captured teenage frustration and desire in the mid-1950s and early 1960s. He experimented with multitrack recording, distortion techniques, and overdubbing even on his earliest singles. He played the guitar, piano, bass, and drums.[1] His image as a sharply dressed and attractive young man with a rebellious attitude epitomized the stance of the 1950s rocker, and in death he achieved iconic status.

Without Eddie, there would be no Pete Townsend, Rod Stewart, Led Zep, Marc Bolan, or Hendrix. He was a fabulous talent who left far too early. It speaks volumes that six decades after his premature passing, nobody had a bad word to say about him. Like James Dean, he will remain forever young.

I was 14yr old when this wonderful young man was killed. I loved his songs so much, and was just so sad when we learned he had been killed in a car crash. I often thought of what he would have become, a huge continuing sucess. I also thought of how his poor dear mother and father were just devastated and, hurt the rest of their lives. Their all together in Heaven now with our Wonderful Lord Jesus to comfort them forever. Thank you Sir for this video.

As a long time guitar player myself...I also heard Eddie used a thiner B string as an E string to help with his wild Country sounding bends.... Stevie Ray Vaughan used 13 or even 15 gauge for first E.....!!...But you need hands of steel to bend THOSE....!!!!..Great video...Always Watching..!!...Best wishes from Plymouth UK..!!

My wife's from Eddie's home town of Albert Lea, Minnesota and he remains a legend there. (The other big celebrity from AL is Marion Ross, of Happy Days. ) In fact, the whole twon celebrates Eddie Cochran Days every summer. Sometimes my brother in law gets out his vintage Chevy and drives in the parade.

Thanks Alan, i think Eddie would have gone on to be even bigger than than he was, like Buddy, we've lost a lot of great songs.

Hello Steve, exactly you would assume that both would have been much bigger, even though in a small way their restricted time made them more important and young icons, etc so who knows. But their content was so good. I think they would have been much more influential stars

So many stars have died young. On the birthday of Billy Fury too. Love the pioneers of R 'n' R and rockabilly. Had serious head injuries apparently, who knows what he would have been had he survived.

My grandad was the guy who found him, my Nan looked after his girlfriend too just after the crash. They had amazing memories of that night. They were interviewed and it was on KZbin, I’m desperately trying to find it again.

Thank you for such a beautiful tribute to a legend of rock and roll ❤ Although I was born after he passed away, my mother adored Eddie Cochran and passed the love of him onto me. I vividly remember watching a documentary when I was a teenager. His mother was still alive and showed the documentary team Eddie’s bedroom. His mother hadn’t changed anything in the bedroom and all his guitars were in there too. It moved me to tears 😢 Sharon Sheeley died on May 17, 2002 aged 62. She has a cenotaph marker next to Eddie Cochran at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cypress, in Orange County, California. Sharon and Eddie’s brother Bill wrote the 1959 hit "Somethin' Else” for Eddie. Sharon was an accomplished songwriter. Dave Dee (David John Harman) passed away on 9 Jan 2009 aged 67. As you said he was amongst the first to attend the crash scene as a police cadet with the Wiltshire Police. He later recounted that he started learning to play the guitar using Cochran's impounded Gretsch guitar over several nights at the station. Thank you for your brilliant coverage. I’m usually a silent subscriber but I had to comment on this. We have spoken to each other before in the comments section. Love your channel 💖💋

Hello c, What's a beautiful and interesting comment? I loved every word of it. You gave me a shiver down the back. That's the total truth. I love it when people really appreciate the person I'm filming about and I love Eddie Cochran for two reasons. One may partner who sadly died recently absolutely loved jiving to summertime blues oh when you look at these body of work it was fantastic at the time. The relationship with Sharon seen quite magical after they've been together a while professionally. And is it not a strange story about Dave or attended to scene and went on to be a pop star? Thank you ever so much. I loved your comment. It was the highlight of my evening. Best regards, Alan.. there was something about Eddie. He was something else 👍
