folks might find it weird for the prayers , being a non-believer myself, theres similiarities on focusing on Something ahead to bring towards the goal , its a process of focusing on getting it done. Devotion of grit the muslims, the buddhists, the highlanders you name it , its all the same its akin to recalling back your most heart and gut wrenching moments, like david goggins, dig deep and unleash that mental pressure .... or the hope to gasp it and just Flow state in the prayers ? works in similar fashion, tapping on the other nerves. And mentally being Pschy for pre-game and post-game results.

I mean he's trying not to injure himself with those heavy weights, Ronnie Coleman got in the state he is in by going all out and having a brutal style of training, sure Derek isn't quite there in terms of intensity buy still he's lifting some heavy ass weight and is trying to minimize injury risks by having others help him lift the weights and spot him, keep on hating 😜

@@carlospnt I hear what your saying, but respectfully disagree. I think it’s far riskier relying on someone else to place weights in your hands. The weight is not that extreme (unless it’s like 140s and above) especially if you can handle the slow controlled reps like he’s doing it’s not heavy for him. So it all comes across a bit pretentious. He could go several inches lower for a better stretch and force him to have to lighten the load even more. Derek’s chest was his biggest flaw at last year’s Olympia. It disappeared when he flexed in certain poses. Maybe the change in range of motion would help or a change in exercises from predominately machines.
