For the egg gadget you are supposed to store it with your eggs (so keep it in the fridge if you keep your eggs in the fridge). It's so that the internal temperature of the gadget can match the internal temperature of the eggs and cook more accurately.

There are very few places outside of the US that eggs are kept in the fridge, so he should have been good to go temp wise.
@huntergallagher57048 жыл бұрын
Hello, ignorant American here. How in the heck are you supposed to keep your eggs outside of the fridge? I wouldn't trust them sitting out on the counter, pasteurized or otherwise. I don't even trust eggs that have been in the nest for longer than two or three days at home.
@infin1ty8508 жыл бұрын
Eggs have a protective coating on them. In the US, it's required by FDA regulation that they be washed thoroughly for public consumption which removes the coating. This is pretty much only a US regulation. If you get your eggs out of a nest, there is no reason whatsoever to put them in the fridge to preserve them.
@huntergallagher57048 жыл бұрын
Eggs have a protective coating on them that prevents spoilage when left at room temperature? I mean, it makes sense when you're looking at it from a reproductive point of view for the chicken as they often delay the actual nest-sitting until they've accumulated so many eggs but from a "is this thing gross" point of view for Americans it doesn't seem like a good idea to leave anything, really, outside the fridge. Hell, most of us keep our ketchup and vinegar in the fridge.

I have the same tomatoe thing!! But you had to use it like this: 1) Cook the tomatoes, put a bunch of them in a pot at medium heat 2) Once the tomatoes are soft and in a kind of soup of their on juices, pour that into the machine 3) Collect all the seeds and skin that is going to be pouring out from the little oppeining and then put it back againg into the machine until it comes out dry 4) Cook the juice you collected with a little bit of salt and BOOM you have home-made tomatoe sauce italian style The machine broke because you are suppose to cook the tomatoes first, mine is 6 years old and perfeclty fine

Your talking out of your ass Robyn, hes from the west country, same as me, and thats the accent from here. It is a thick accent. As for talentless, well thats your opinion, but I have been watching him from the very beginning, the very first video, and have enjoyed seeing Barry evolve from a very nervous vlogger, to the confident vlogger he is today. Also this IS his day job, one which he is doing so well at, so well, that his wife was able to give up her day job, to join him. Also before you make a ignorant post, how about understanding the history of the channel. The whole point is that Barry is a NOVICE in the kitchen, hence why its called 'My virgin kithcen', so he's not always going to get it right, and he's trying the gadgets as a novice, seeing these things for the first time, as an every day joe...how many people actually read the instructions? Typical man really. I LOVE his banter, as do many others, and thats why he has such a big following, which increases on a daily basis. So he must be doing something right.

As an Australian whose parents are Italians. The Tomato Sauce Machine - You need to boil / cook the tomatoes slightly up to 20 mins and you can squeeze them before hand in water so you dont get it all over you then drain or squeeze or squash them in the pot without water so you dont waste the juices but it will make it a little more watery and the skins can be put through again for a thicker sauce. Tomatoes need to be over ripped too. I hope that helps. Just realised its hard to explain then do. lol

The food processer is similar to the old fashioned Victorio strainer, but made out of plastic. Every year my family processes the gardens harvest and multiple bushels of fruit for canning. We blanch tomatoes first and then they zip right through. We make tomato pasta sauce, plain chunk tomatoes, and then a condensed tomato sauce/paste. We use the strainer to make lots of jars of apple sauce, and we use your beloved apple peeler/corer and bottle apple pie filling. Many people use Victorio strainers to make baby food also.

Stuffed Burgers have been a steakhouse specialty for about 30 years in U.S. (We made them a lot when I was a child. Great memory!) Adding 1 egg and 4 ounces (by volume) of bread crumbs to 2 pounds of ground beef made the burger halves seal so much better. You could also just use this beef, egg, bread crumb mixture for the sides of the burger. Make small patties for top & bottom with only beef, place toppings on bottom patty, place top patty on that, & then form a "snake" with some of the mixture to wrap around burger.

Those tomato squeezers are pretty popular here in Italy as well, lots of people make passata at home. Maybe not the plasticky ones, though. What you did wrong is that you used raw tomatoes, while these things are designed to work with cooked tomatoes. Basically, you start out cutting up the tomatoes (yup) and placing them in a pan with a little salt. When they are softened, you run them through the mill (that is why metal ones are better: you run them through the mill when they are hot) and return the cooked and crushed tomatoes to the pan for the final cooking, while peels and seeds get expelled though the side opening. Add a few basil leaves (if you like it), pour into bottles, cork, place bottles to down to sterilize and you have homemade passata for the whole next year: far more labor-intensive than buying a good quality one from the grocery (and often not even much cheaper).

I have a chopper similar to the one you have, but with lots of different chopping squares, they are very useful things. Mine has a mandolin attachment too :)

ik that stuffed burger probably taste like it came from the heavens but it looks like it got regurgitated from hell 😭😭

Honestly, working at a meat market myself, stuffed burgers are great in concept but hard to achieve. We make what we call "Gourmet Burgers," but we just mix the other ingredients in with the mince. Bacon and cheddar, mushroom and Gouda, etc. The cheese just melts into the mince, so you don't need to worry about it getting all over. You had more success with that gadget than we did though, must say!

So.. Did Amy not have a name when you got her? (If you considered calling her something else)

Yes Amy was called Amy when we got her, she's 3 so didn't want to change her name

just a tip witht he burger stuffer . you put in a bit to much meat so it cant seal it completely arround . i used to make loads of them ,by hand . but using a machine like that , i really needed to get used , but i figured out that you dont need to put allot of meat in there or it doesnt seal all the way arround . but i must say the second one did come out decently :)
