In this video I show you that anyone without any experience can fix their own washer if there spring/wire pops out of the seal. I had this issue on an LG washer machine and couldn't pull apart the spring with any of my other tools. Found this on one Amazon and you can see in the video that I worked 🙌

I'm replacing the door boot for my LG wm3488hw washer dryer. This particular model is a bit different than normal door Bruce. This model has two expansion rings. I can do the outer ring but, you need a different tool to remove & replace the inner ring. Please help me. I'm on a fixed income & LG won't come because I started this myself. TIA

Start one side completely like you did, then do a 1/4 of the other side then grab a small hook tool and start at the 3 o’clock position while holding the other side and slide hook tool slowly from 3 o’clock to 6 o’clock and it should work. May take a couple tries to get it but not bad if u don’t have these pliers.

Ok rub washing up liquid round rind, get 2 forks, like a bike tyre, get ring in as best as possible then use forks to pull in rest of ring, bit fiddly, but will work, use ur mate or partner to do the fork bit while u hold in top bit of ring, no buying this plyer tool

Just rest your knee up against the seal next to the lock to stop it popping out. 2 second job.

To be honest I'm unsure. I just quickly looked at this www.searspartsdirect.com/diy/repair-guide/how-to-replace-the-drain-pump-on-a-front-load-washer And they used the tool to remove the door boot. Hope that helps or someone can answer your question better

outside screwdriver no need any special too!!! the inside spring must need special too!!!! i try my tool today, this too not work for inside spring, !!!
