Honestly, I know this movie had A LOT of issues but one of the main things I disliked about it was how freaking nerfed Wonder Woman was. She legit went toe to toe with Doomsday and was loving every minute. In this though, she could BARELY handle Steppenwolf. The way Superman just swooped in at the end and whooped Steppenwolf like a rag doll was just some major BS. And Batman was SUCH A JOKE in this. How does Cavill's press/security guy look like the perfect Lex Luthor in just a fraction of a second compared to a whole movie of Eissenberg. This guy is both menacing and a physical match for Cavill.
@jakubrejak11144 жыл бұрын
I found Jesse Eisenberg quite fitting for the role of Lex Luthor. And if we're speaking about menacing, just rewatch the scene when he unveils the kryptonite rock and stares at his assistant. Pure evil.
@Fenris304 жыл бұрын
Lex Luthor isn't supposed to be a physical match for Superman that's why he Wears increasingly gigantic suits of armor. His thing was being a MENTAL match for Superman period. The guy who's going to come up with the plan to kill Superman and... holy fuck it worked? Lex Luthor killed Superman on his first try, say what you will about who pulled the trigger but he ultimately got the W. Has that ever happened before? That's like The Joker shooting Batman in the face the first time they meet. Man talk about a overachiever.

@@Fenris30 But that doesn't say anything about the quality of the character. Any writer could make up a scenario where a weaker character defeats Superman. @eating sugar no papa They are riddled with problems. Batman Begins starts with Bruce blowing up a fortress of ninjas, while claiming he doesn't kill, then continues to kill in every movie making him nothing more than a hypocrite with no self-awareness. In Begins his Bat-voice is acceptable as he's either whispering or shouting, in the sequels he tries too hard to have a gravelly voice and it comes off as more comedic than intimidating. Bane is reduced to nothing more than a love-sick henchman doing Talias bidding (raise your hand if you think that's an accurate representation of the take no shit mercenary who never does what anyone else tells him and doesn't care about anyone else). Talia wants to kill Bruce for killing her father, even though that is typically what she wants Bruce to do in all other mediums so they can lead the League together. Neither Bruce nor Bane were ever trained by the League of Assassins*. Alfred abandons Bruce, which goes against every fibre of what that character represents. Joker came off as a try hard who's desperate to be seen as an agent of chaos all the while having a very intricate plan with a specific order of events that must happen for it to succeed... key word there being "order". "Robin" throws a handgun away in disgust after shooting a guy at the construction site, only to immediately pick up a f***ing shotgun when looking for Gordon in the hospital. And did I mention Batman kills, like... way more people than Affleck or Keaton did, IF you actually pay attention to the action scenes. He even SHOOTS the driver of the bomb truck in the third film while spending the whole trilogy saying "no guns, no killing". As I said, under an objective analysis, Bale is nothing more than a hypocrite. There's a massive disconnect between what EVERY character SAYS about themselves compared to what they actually DO. So yes, those movies have plenty of problems, but most idiots are blind to it because "mUh ReALisM" and "Oh cOoL PenCiL TrIcK!!!" like moronic children who are mesmerised by flashy noisy keys being shaken in front of them.

@@depuntoapuntoenelmundo2408 Denton Van Zan , from the movie Reign of Fire (2002), in his cynical retort to having lost three of his men during a "heroic" mission to kill a dragon while everybody else was celebrating the victory. The idea is that if the world was peaceful and good, it wouldn't need heroes to fight and sacrifice themselves in the first place. This can be applied to superhero flicks where all sorts of cosmic horror come to town around the exact time superheroes start showing up. It's the age-old cliche and accusation that superheroes were responsible for creating or luring the bad guys into the world, yet they're the only people strong enough to defeat them. A sceptical mind may claim that the world would have been better off without any of them.
