you could buy synthetic instead of down because once down gets wet you are done, it will not keep your warm so be careful. Wool merino baselayer, merino socks, merino underwears will do the trick, midlayer a fleece vest or another merino sweater will be fine, for the last layer a good winter jacket will be just fine. Don't forget your tuques (wool) gloves (wool) mittens good quality, buff, baklava, scarf for your neck (you lose a lot of heat from the neck, head). Don't wear only gloves because fingers separated will get cold faster than mittens (fingers together will keep you warm).

Yeah almost every glove🧤I've worn, my finger tips felt like someone was placing a icecube on every tip. As a kid I was shocked at the fact that gloves would keep every part of my hands except the tips of fingers warm.

Great topic! Growing up in real winter taught me the value of investing in GOOD quality snow boots and coats. Sure, it costs upfront, but they can last years and years with proper care. My big Sorels are 21 years old and still going strong (even the liners), and both my Eddie Bauer jackets (2 lengths, simple style, fleece-lined pockets, plain black, removable hood) are like new 14 years later. Just switch up cozy accessories for a trendier look.

@@MustDoCanada Hopefully folks who are just visiting us temporarily during the winter season are able to borrow clothes. I know of friends' families who have bunches of gear set aside specifically for overseas guests. They meet them at the airport with all the necessary outdoor clothing so no one freezes.👍

This was great guys. True Canadians - ever helpful. When I visited Canada I did a combination of borrowing and buying. If I did it again I know I'd do the layering better and I'd probably just hire gear (coat, boots etc) for outdoor activities if I was staying at a ski resort but take a good pair of warm waterproof hiking boots, my ski pants (cos already own) and probably buy an everyday jacket there

Hi thank you for sharing this tips to everybody. Specially to those who want to migrate or visit canada. May I ask if what province or city in canada is best to settle? Thanks 😊
@MustDoCanada
@MustDoCanada 4 жыл бұрын
That really depends on a lot of factors, such as jobs, cost of living, activities, etc. For example, if you really love cities, Toronto, Vancouver, and Montreal are probably the most thriving. But Toronto and Vancouver are also crazy expensive. Calgary used to have the most jobs but that's changed a bit. It is cheaper to live and close to the mountains, although the city is much quieter than the previous ones. So, it depends on so much haha

@MustDoCanada
@MustDoCanada 4 жыл бұрын
hmmm, I don't know about Montreal, but over here in Calgary, no stores would close. Never as far as I know. Schools close only if its -30 or worse. But that's rare. I don't think they will close in -15. That means they would be closed almost the whole winter haha. What activities do you plan on doing? I would say clothes is the most important
