My 7am Morning Routine! (Healthy & Productive Habits)

I get up everyday before 7am and have an easy to follow routine that will get you on the right track for the rest of your day and maybe even a fitter life ahead!
I share another of my breakfast favourites, my vitamin regime, and a home workout circuit you can do with just a set of dumbbells and a jump rope. If you don't have a skipping rope - fake it!!! Jump as if you have one, but make it an Academy Award performance!
Notes:
-I always do my morning workouts fasted.
-I mix the collagen in the last 1/4 cup of my tea - it tastes pleasant and mixes easily.

This is exactly the kind of video I was hoping you would make next! I love when we get to see more of your personality and your everyday approach to health and fitness! I'd love to see more day in the life/day of eating and working out videos, they're my favorite :) Also, I'm a bit jealous you can wear makeup when you work out. It makes me break out and i'd end up looking like a wet racoon because I sweat too much haha

I’m sitting here binge watching your channel cuz work is slow today and I just discovered you have a channel! I’d love a beauty video, maybe based around anti aging. This is kinda random but I noticed the skin on your legs looks super nice & I usually see more veins & whatnot on the legs of women over 50 or so. I’m sure genetics plays a part but you seem like someone who has some beauty secrets up your sleeves. Much love from Texas! 🤍

Thanks Laura! Don’t know why some people get so triggered by that, lol!! And believe me, I’m not red carpet ready, just a little eyeliner and lip gloss, so I can recognize myself in the mirror 😂❤️

Love it!! Keep up the great channel!! I have a potential video idea: My parents are in their 60s and they understand the need to live healthy and active lives. They go on daily walks and do their best with nutrition/diet, but they (mom especially) are nervous about amping up their fitness and experimenting with weights. I know you've lived such a healthy lifestyle for so long, but maybe a video on advice for beginners (of any age) about how it's never too late to start? And how you got started? And maybe you could share some ways in which being fit has enhanced your life, and allowed you to keep up with friends/family/etc. as you've gotten older? Just a thought! Thank you!

Alexa, To state an example . At the age of 65 I found myself overweight, totally unfit and unable to walk for more than 20 minutes on the treadmill. I would actually become breathless just climbing the stairs. Finally I came to my senses and started going to the gym, I did get a personal trainer for several months and progressed from stretching to light weights and more intense weight training. I'm now 70 and can walk 4 miles on the treadmill In 80 minutes without a problem. Further more I weight train for one hour three times per week. The importance of strong core muscles and legs in our later years is a must. The benefits if done correctly far outweigh the inactive lifestyle as we get older. I cannot bring myself to think where I would be health wise if I had not started slowly working at my weight bearing exercise routine. A personal trainer for a short period of time was a good idea for me. My philosophy is, you gotta stay in the fight.

Enjoyed watching! Getting ideas 💡😁 from you rock. I have to be extra careful have double hip replacements I'm 60 now hips Osteoporosis at age 50. I lost weight after the first hip was replaced I wanted to live. I've been slacking as of late on so much. You have given me the boost I need to get my rear back at it. Thanks!

As for video ideas, would actually love to learn more about you, where you grew up, were you always into fitness, whether you had a career outside the home when you were younger, how you and your husband met, etc. Doesn't have to be these exact questions, just really any Q&A you are comfortable sharing. And a week in the life vlogs would be fun too :)

I'm so glad KZbin suggested this video. I just subscribed. I'm 39 and did not (still don't) have any good role models in my life. I wish the women in my family spent their time improving their health, instead of smoking, drinking, gossiping, and playing bingo. I've had to find my own way and recently started weightlifting. I look forward to seeing more of your videos. 💗💐

Hi Cathy! Thanks for asking! It was actually really scary and I ignored lots of signs that things weren’t right like itching, small hives etc. Finally I had 2 of the kids with me at a restaurant and I couldn’t get my breath or swallow and the server had to call 911!! Eventually I was sent to a good allergist who looked at all the vitamins I was taking and said “what the heck are you doing??” Whatever combination you’ve got going here is poison to you! I stopped everything then! (This was 20 years ago and now I don’t often add anything new!) Thanks for watching!❤️

I'm really loving your videos! I also think that making the bed after waking up is one of the best things to do in the morning, it makes me feel like I'm starting my day with the right foot. Also a video idea could be to show us how do you meal plan when living with other people without making bad choices. Have a nice weekend!!

I make my bed first thing too, as soon as I’m out of if unless me husband is still in it. I too like to exercise in the morning but have to have a coffee first & do certain chores first lol. Old habits die hard. In terms on future videos, first I love all ur cooking videos so more of those please 😁. How about makeup routines for older women, dealing with hooding eyelids etc. I’ve really enjoyed your videos thus far. Keep up the good work. Oh, you mentioned u workout fasted, as do I..touch on intermittent fasting …

Sounds like we have a lot in common Deborah! I could never do intermittent fasting, I’m way too hungry!! But I know it works so well for so many people. I’ve been told that since I have my greens drink before exercising, I’m not really “fasted” but I haven’t had breakfast, so I feel empty! 😋

You asked for suggestions for videos of things we'd like to see, well heres one. I would like to hear how you handle menopause {if you're in it}. Hormones, do they bloat you ? etc. I hope I'm not asking for something too personal but I am in your age group and its a topic many women can relate to.

i love this video because it portrays perfectly how everyone can be healthy, keep fit and exercise regardless the age. I think adults should watch that too, because most of them are so focused in their work, they barely have time to focus on themselves and developing a healthier and better lifestyle.

So glad to have you here with me! Our gym is in constant change. Will keeps getting more equipment and sends it to our house because he lives in a condo. We soon will not even have room for a couch! We now have the treadmill and peloton ,reformer and cable unit on one side (which was supposed to be the entire gym) and then along came the Eleko weights/rack etc. I’ll be moving out soon 😂🤷🏼‍♀️

Not at all random! I just eat the Quaker Quick Oats that they sell in the giant box at Costco. I do like the steel cut oats as well but they take much longer to cook! 😘

Hello! I'm 15 and i can't help but feel so inspired to see you so active and healthy while im so young and much more unhealthy.I wish i could have the discipline and mindset to be able to wake up early everyday and get a workout in,but i have no idea how to start.Maybe you could make a video on how to get healthy and fit for beginners? (I live in a house where we dont really have alot of money so i can't go to the gym or get protein shakes as much as i would like too) I hope you get to read this and have a nice day!

Hi Maryna, thank you so much for your comment! First off, good for you for wanting to start some healthy habits!! That is truly the most important thing because you have to want it for YOU and no one else! You don’t need extra money either!! Protein shakes and supplements are not going to magically make you fit and healthy! I’d suggest that you start walking every day, just try to add some in where you wouldn’t normally. A little walk after school, not too slow and not too fast. Try to limit your fried foods, add veggies where you can and skip the butter and mayo. Little changes in your lifestyle that you stick to and make a part of your life on a regular basis will go a long way! That said, I’ll certainly think on a video, it’s a great idea, thank you so much! Keep me posted! All the best to you 😘

Hi Elizabeth! I usually have a “greens” drink before I go to Orangetheory. I’m still trying a few and haven’t settled on “the one” yet. I’ll keep you posted! 💚 So, not technically fasted, but no breakfast till I get home 😘

Thanks Susannah, I was thinking about doing one about my working day, I still work, at various times of the year, for a jewellery auction house. It’s downtown from where I live, an hour+ commute so my day starts WAY earlier if I still want to get my workout and steps in! Hmmm, I’ll think about that! 😘

Hmmm, well I go to Orangetheory most weekday mornings or a workout like this one at home. I get my approx 15k steps everyday and that’s around 12km a day. So 80+ km a week (assuming my math is right!). On the weekends I’ll do my Peloton or whatever. Sometimes I just mix it up but ALWAYS my walk! A day of absolutely zero? Like not even a walk? I can’t remember one 🤪

Hey girl just make sure your doctor knows about any supplements ya take. I am sure ya already told him. Just because a example the multi vitamin will include vitamin d and then you taking another d supplement. Also the vitamin b might be in the multi vitamin then again in the b12 then it may be again in that b vitamin complex. Ya really want to avoid over doing anything. Lol as a nurse watching people and their vitamins on KZbin gets me nervous I dunno anyones personal situations tho. Everyone is unique

I like to get a panel done when I see my doc it can tell ya what your too high on or low on. Just requires a blood draw. Your doctor would be able to get ya going in the right direction more than I can. Love ya! Loved the video. That breakfast looked delicious

Hi there! Thanks so much for the comment! I am very careful now because I had a really scary situation several years ago from too many supplements. Just as you’ve described along with contraindications which were NOT good and the supplement industry doesn’t really help to educate. @@MamaTenny I am glad to hear you are staying in safe limits. Yes absolutely the more videos talking about this the better. I think it being easily picked up at any grocery store all Willy nilly makes people think it’s safe. They get caught up reading the benefits of a vitamin but don’t research toxic levels are harmful. That typically your levels of a vitamin are within the healthy range with a remotely decent diet and supplementing can push ya into toxicity especially fat soluble vitamins. That’s why the blood panel is important let’s ya know where your at so ya don’t do harm. My one friend the other day told me she was taking a potassium supplement I was like are you trying to die today? Too much of that is a huge deal. So yes girl please make a video public education on this matter is needed big time
