I had a '70 (not SS) that I loved like Rabbit loves that one when I was in college and my first couple of years working. I also had THE "girl car" import with a targa top. I loved them both, but the '70 was wrecked too many times and I didn't have the money to keep her up, so I let her go. That car was a magnet for people crashing into (Chinese girls learning to drive on campus 2x, crackheads rear-ending it in hit-and-run in Omaha, sideswipe hit-and-run on campus, etc), so it wasn't cheap to keep fixing. It ran famously, and I drove that thing anywhere and everywhere. I don't even know how many miles she had on her. I will say that my late bodywork guy was a genius, and took care of her each and every time - like it was his car. He had it enough it might was well have been. Great car, great memories. Thank you.

Having been born in 1965. My Father bought new a 65 Malibu SS 327/365 h.p. But of course he couldn't leave it alone. Bored .120 over, Racer Brown Cam,Dual Holley 4150's,M-22 Muncie "Rock Crusher" Hurst dual gate shifter,5:13 gears with the mandatory Chrome reverse wheels. Other than my 65 Malibu ( bought out of Tabor City,N.C.) being the color it's just a little 283, 2 speed powerglide. Everybody wants me to "Hot Rod" it! But my Wife just likes it stock, quiet single exhaust,14" white walls with the factory wire wheel covers. Sometimes cars just grow on you!

Rob, I have two vintage Buicks. One is a '56 Buick Special I have spent tons of money on, and I do love it. I have owned it for 34 years. My daily driver is a 2012 300 horse Nissan Maxima I also thoroughly enjoy. But my favorite for the last nine years, is a 1965 Buick Skylark 4 door sedan. It needs paint, but the body is solid. The interior is mostly done but still needs some work. So it is definitely a work in progress. But it has a 250 horse 4 barrel 300 V8 in it, a stoutly rebuilt Buick Super Turbine 300 (fancy Buick name for a Powerglide). Is it perfect, far from it. But it has power steering and brakes, and is about as reliable as gravity. I drive it every chance I get. If it ever wins an award, other than Most Ambitious Restoration, the shock would probably kill me. But even though I have other rides, that old Skylark is definitely my odds on favorite. So I get it Rabbit, I really do.

Mine was 1972 Dodge Polara walking tall sheriff's car, beige, 318 two barrel, stock with a single exhaust with a glasspack. It got 20 mpg and I had a tow dolly I used it to drag junk cars to Foss auto salvage in LaGrange, funny thing it got 20 mpg, towing a car it got 22 mpg! But the greatest thing about dodge/Mopar cars is the little yellow turn signals on the fenders, you look accross the hood, you know the turn signals working cause that little yellow light is in the backwards scoop blinking, folks would ask me if it had a HEMI, I would say, Hell Yeah! (318 2bbl) Man you talking about room, leg room, it was just a sweet ride!

Hey Rob, I live about 20 miles south from where your Boo was built and sold. The dealership where it was sold was torn down a few years ago. I own a 1967 Malibu that was built in the same plant. I have the paperwork from when the original owner bought it. I'm the 3rd owner and don't plan on selling it. It has been a great car.

This video is perfect, a lot of people don't want to hear it but sometimes less is more for sure. Practicality, comfort, all mixed in with good performance that's not too over the top can go a very long way. I had a lot more fun daily driving my little 350hp Evo than jumping in the widow maker Supra. It's all fun for a while but when you get older a car that doesnt beat you up when you drive it is more enjoyable.

I had a 64 Chevelle Malibu SS. All the nice chrome trim on the body was still good, 327-300 hp, 4 speed, 308 rear. Drove it until it had to be parked, let it sit for years, then sold it. The guy I sold it to researched the vin #, the car had been built as a SS car yes, but with a straight six engine. Who would have ever guessed those cars were available like that?

My favorite muscle car is probably a mid-late 60’s mustang fastback or even just the regular mustang coupe. But I have grown to appreciate the 2-door 1965 ford fair lane sitting at my grandpa’s farm, it’s got a few rock chips, sun damaged black paint but in some parts it’s still glossy. The red leather interior is covered by a towel and underneath it is pretty pristine. It has a broken passenger door hinge but that’s pretty much the main problem, the engine is the same ford 289 as the mustangs around then but it has aftermarket heads and there is a wide market for aftermarket parts because most parts are compatible with the similar mustangs. It is a really under appreciated car, even though it is a two door it is still more spacious than the mustangs from around then.

some cars are like that. Just comfortable, even the same year and model isn't the same. My favorite car, a 70 valiant with a slant six, four doors, nothing to look at, not high performance anything, but it always got me there, and got me home, without making me hunch over or anything. I'm 6 6 and well over 300 these days, not too many cars fit at all. Nowadays, I buy cars like I do shoes, if they fit, that's what I buy regardless of most anything else. Still none was as good as that old valiant. When if finally did crap out, it threw a rod through the block.. but it still got me about ten miles home with no oil or water in it. Months later, I could put a battery in it and it would still run well enough to move it around the yard. You just don't find em like that anymore.

So few understand that cars (trucks too) can be more then a way to point B from A. My BMW Z3 M roadster is like that for me. I’m tall so it is tight but it like fitting in to a good fitting glove beside head room for me. It puts a smile on my face every time I pull it out of the garage and do enjoy driving it however as much as I love driving it a 10 days long trip in it, I’m not so sure about that in a M car. Never sell it and put the wheels back on when they fall off.
