Can confirm, holding a hummingbird is one of the most surreal experiences I’ve ever had. The poor bird kept flying in circles and falling onto the ground, so I got a medicine dropper, filled it with sugar water, and put it up to the hummingbird’s beak. I’d never realized that when a hummingbird drinks, it’s tongue actually shoots out to collect the nectar. It was so cool to see. Once it got a drink, it flew away perfectly fine. I still can’t believe I had that experience though, it was insane.

Reasons why kids share ages: 1. If they want online friends they feel obligated to only be friends with kids the same age, most people make friends at school with in the same classroom or grade (meaning those people are the same age). So they feel as if they must make friends with similar ages to have the same intrests, favorites, ect. 2. They feel if they share their age they assert dominance over others. Some kids like to feel better than others to make themselves happy. (Which is kind of sad) 3. Parents say to never share personal information online so they feel like a "bad boy" by doing so. (Which is stupid) 4. Some kids enjoy theyare growing up, and getting older in age. They also get to use he internet as they please, even though they might get in trouble. They feel as if they can grow into a new person or find a passion online. Lets say you're 11, you might find someone online who needs a babysitter. Then you tell your age to make sure they can trust you. Then it's out there for others to see if they need help from someone ele this age. 5. Kids are weird sometimes.

(I'm 38 and) the age thing, I think, is a matter of how important age is to a young child. Almost every interaction you have with another person uses your age as an important point of context or information - your school year and thus your peer group; when you get to move from the kids' table to the grown up table at family gatherings; and when meeting an adult for the first time as a child, the first thing they always ask is how old you are. Obviously this piece of information is important when interacting with adults, and also helps establish a sort of 'pecking order' with other children. :)

I think pianos are always the horror movie instrument because there’s a lot of songs that you’d normally need a band to play that you can play with just a piano. If dogs had human-like capabilities, not only do I believe they would make art, but I think it would be incredibly unique because there would be a whole branch of art that wouldn’t be visual or sound-based, but smell-based. Their sense of smell is so far gone beyond ours that we can’t even really conceive of it. All their media would include smell, and even if humans were still as capable as we are, we would never be able to appreciate the depths of it

here's something I thought about: kids get asked how old they are CONSTANTLY so that's probably why they feel the need to announce it, I remember as a kid I was especially small and people would always lean down over me and be like "how old are you?" and I would be like "I'm 13." or however old I was, and people would always be shocked by how small I was.. in case you're curious I'm now 18 and 5'1" I have always been small
