I know it has been a couple of years but condolences on your loss of Ginger. Your memorial rock is exactly what I want to do for my babies who have passed. Thank you for this video.

I buy Art resin also but Ive never had those red caps on my bottles. Hmmm? Glad you mentioned about not grabbing the same bottle twice. Been there and and what I did was apply another coat and it cured fine in case it happens to anyone.

Yes I think we have all done it at least once :( ArtResin has their own KZbin channel and I found their info very helpful. Thx Jody ❤️

Thank you for this video. I've tried using resin, but I get a hazy blob on the bottom of the stones once dried. Too much resin, setting them on wax paper, not sure. I'm going to follow your video and see if I'm more successful. Beautiful colors and designs, very talented.

Make sure your stone is well dried before resin. It may be the cement not being fully dried. Less is always better too. :)

Thanks so much Susan, very informative! I like your rock creations too, very colorful!! 💜 is there a mold you get for the rocks you make? I haven't been able to find any. Great channel and I've subscribed! Thanks again! Pam 🙋

My larger molded rocks I make from molds from Happy Dotting Company on Etsy. The little heart molds i purchased on AliExpress amd search silicone heart molds. The little tiny ones I made are just a paint tray well, I got that at a dollar store :)

This is an excellent resin tutorial thank you. I have the one from michaels but I haven’t tried it yet. Where in Victoria did you find the art resin?
@SusanNelsonCreations3 жыл бұрын
Opus or Island Blue carry ArtResin . I think island blue gives a discount if your a member of our rock painting group “Vancouver Island Painted Rocks”. On Facebook

How do you prevent your rocks from sticking and the paint being pulled off the bottom. It looks like we use the same kind of container for our rocks. I keep them in a warm room and I don't try to pull them off until 24 hours. I keep them in the container from an additional 48 hours to completely cure. Thanks for you response and help.

I do show some options around that for moulded stones. Did you see the entire video? Parchment paper, silicone surfaces prevent that.

When I resin my rocks, it seems like the bottoms get really bumpy and you can’t read my signature or the number that I put on it. Plus when I wear my gloves, it feels like the resin gets through it because my hands are sticky and I’ve tried everything to get it. Clean alcohol, vinegar, Clorox wipes. Nothing seems to work. Do you have any suggestions?
@SusanNelsonCreations Жыл бұрын
Your gloves are not thick enough. Try doubling up. If your putting too much resin you may get pooling. So you don’t need much at all. If you resin on moulded stones you defiantly need to put something under the rock. I put felt on mine afterwards because I like the soft bottom for when they sit on tables. I don’t care if my signature gets covered but I know other want to see it so I just change the placement . So try less resin Wear thicker gloves Maybe look at a better surface to sit them on. Some people try pins in styrofoam ( too fussy for me) I experimented a lot over the years and you will figure out what works for you too. But protect your skin, eyes!!

Thanks Susan. Do you think that a hairdryer or heat gun would work as well?
@SusanNelsonCreations4 жыл бұрын
I don’t use them because of the potential of blowing fluff onto my rocks. If you don’t have a torch there are other things you can do to get rid of bubbles. Some use a spritz of alcohol I think, straw .
